All 7's from me too. (I didn't even see the highlights) My reasoning. They should have been paid. They need to be part of a proper squad. It's not their fault they are part of a rag tag team. They will get hammered regularly, get used to it, it's not their fault. I refuse to give them bad marks when they are beaten by a much better team worth much more. It's DC's fault ,not the managers or the players. By all means give the players extra points if deserved but in the circumstances I think 7 is the minimum justified. They deserve that for still being here.

I really like the lad. Very good prospect. It could be a blessing in disguise if it means DC can't sell him in the January window. Come back stronger and wait until February before you do so.
-
That took some time. SWFC didn't get very high marks from me on anything. The IFR did get strong support if he kicks ass.(DC's)

For £130k for a 3 day week I might. -
You don't need to invade the pitch, just say you are going to. Have 30 people gather near the front of the stand as if they are going to go on the pitch. Then go back to their seats. Next do the same in another area. Keep that up for a bit and you will drive the police and stewards mad. Save actual invasions for when it will make the biggest visual impact.

The none payment of staff salaries, players wages and hmrc bills is going to needs lot of explaining, considering it has been going on for a long time. Not being able to guarantee funds to run the next window or 3 years is inexcusable. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when DC tries to excuse his actions. If I was the IFR I'd just say put £10m in escrow now while we sort this out. If he couldn't I'd appoint a trustee. -

He's only the figure head. I doubt he will do the actual nitty gritty stuff. There will be a structure below his level that will put the case together. -
Very few people have even heard of him. He's the wayward child of the family, The other son is better known but not as widely as you would think. Just think about it, Cadbury's was a big company. Did you know who ran it? Did you know if he'd got a brother. Think of Bassets, actually in Sheffield, did you know who ran them? Do you know if that person has brothers or sisters. You get the idea. We think DC is somebody in Thailand, I seriously doubt he is. We know who he is because he owns SWFC, mores the pity.

Trust Call For Full Boycott Against Middlesbrough
prowl replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It really isn't. Far from it. It's money that will end this, well, money and the things that flow from it. Things like having to sell the promising youngsters who have impressed in the last few games, so that DC can stay another month. When they have all gone and we are down to the dregs of the team, players that we can't give away, maybe the ones still going will decide not to buy season tickets if DC is still here, It will be the exceptionally poor take up of next years season tickets that will eventually make DC see sense and sell. The club costs a lot to run, the ground is expensive to operate, DC can't run a L1 operation with virtually no paying customers even if he only pays each player £500 per week. That's where he's taking us if he carries on like he is. Then it's L2 and even less income. We have the IFR who may help things along and then the final fans action of stopping games every time we play at home until our games have to be played behind closed doors. At some stage DC will crack. -
I think we should do that every home match
prowl replied to fedupowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No DC didn't want that then, but he will take it now. At present he's on the back foot, he would love to paint himself as the innocent party and blame the fans. If it kicks off who do you think the police are going to blame? -

You were saying....... Also, you only one or two who've had a few sherbets and it's odds on it will kick off. The more that go on the pitch the more likely it is to happen. If it does, even if started by the stewards, the fans on the pitch will get the blame. -

Don't go there. Sounds like you are just looking for a fight. It's supposed to be a peaceful demonstration not a riot. As soon as fighting starts the fans lose all credibility. It doesn't matter who started it, the fans on the pitch will get the blame. Then we lose support from other clubs. If DC hopes for one thing it's that the fans on the pitch get involved in fighting with the stewards. Dream scenario for him. -

We don't know where it leads. It's gone off peacefully so far but the people on the pitch yesterday committed a crime, they will have been recorded and in most cases the police will soon find out who they are. They might get a visit from the police at some stage, maybe not this week but the police can pull them in when they want. Now people have done it, I can almost guarantee it will happen again. Next time more will do it, and more the time after that. At some stage the police will decide they have to take action to stop it for the future. That's when people will start getting arrested, not in the ground but at home. They will come down on some of them hard as a warning to others. When a lot go on the pitch someone will get hurt. Nothing deliberate but it is likely. I'm 70 years old. I couldn't run on to the pitch even if I wanted to. I'm not going to encourage others to do it and sit on my bum while they take risks on my behalf. I've been shocked at how many posters on here have been encouraging others to run on to the pitch when they have no intention of joining in. That's wrong, if you encourage others you should be there with them. You are letting others take the risks you aren't brave enough to take. I think it should be a very last resort. Our protests have barely started and have been very well received so far. Keep that up, only more so. Why take risks until the IFR has had a chance to get Chansiri for us. If he is a failure we can legitimately say, we've tried everything available to get DC out nicely. Now the gloves come off and we are going to stop games a Hillsborough one way or another. That's enough to give a flavour of my reasoning. If others want to do it there is nothing I can do to stop them, it's their choice. -
Only option now is players refusing to play
prowl replied to SheffWed's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The have been paid even if it is late, very late in some cases. The older ones should have a decent amount in savings, so it doesn't hurt them badly. It's an inconvenience rather than hardship. The younger ones will find it harder but the teenagers probably still have the bank of mum and dad to call on. The people who feel late payment the most will be the ordinary staff who will be really hurting in some cases. Every one of the above has my admiration. DC is a sh!t. -
Not at all. If he was far ahead of the game he would have got out before he started not being able to pay wages and HMRC. Maybe in Thailand all those things are allowed but not in this country. There will be trouble because of both. He's now royally pee'd off the fans. Things will start escalating now. The fans were on the pitch yesterday, that may escalate now it's started. The IFR is starting in a month supposedly, that is going to cost DC a LOT in legal fees. If he wins he can recoup his costs but that is unlikely and it could lead to the club being sold from under him. Last, but probably, not least, season tickets need renewing soon. I hope and expect he will find out his loyal fan base is no longer as loyal as they were. Ticket sales will be down, hopefully massively. That points to gates dropping next season. DC is going to face serious issues in the next 12 months. The club is in a downwards spiral which will only stop when he goes. The longer he waits, the more it will cost him. He's gone from asking for £300m to a reported £70M, he's no chance of getting that at the moment and when the points deduction hits, he's not going to get £20m for the club. Just looking at those figures (his own) shows the value destruction DC has been responsible for. If he keeps going we will be a L1 club next year and a L2 club a couple of years later.

If you aren't prepared to do it yourself don't encourage others to do it. It's just wrong. Lots of people earlier today were saying they'd go on the pitch but obviously didn't. That's gutless. I don't agree with going on the pitch but I won't stop anyone from doing so. I won't do it, I'm too old and I think it's the wrong thing to do at present. I might be wrong, who knows. If you are going to do it, just get on with it. If you aren't, stop encouraging others to do so. -

prowl replied to SheffWed's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The players won't take any action as things currently stand. The way they have been playing in the last few games indicates they have made a decision as a group to fight for the club by being the best they can possibly be. It will be the senior players leading this, Bannan, Palmer etc plus the manager. It's not their job to fight this battle, it's the fans. I don't think it's our place to try to change their minds. It's theirs. Just my thoughts. -

Easy to say but what would you do if the club fined a player 2 weeks wages. Or suspended him without pay. We do support them in spirit but spirit doesn't pay wages. I'm not getting at you personally with these comments. I just don't think we should be encouraging them to take action. Its their decision and I think they have already decided not to take action. -
That's fine as far as it goes but (there's always a but) You should always pay your staff. These people put in a good days work and are loyal to you. The least they deserve is to be shown respect and to be paid on time. If you don't do that when you can, you are a scumbag. Same with the players, if you entered into the contracts and agreed the terms after hard negotiations. The players keep their side of the deal. Only a scumbag would fail to keep theirs. It's counterproductive and just plain illogical to let players tear up their contract when you could sell them for decent money. You are in breach of contract and their solicitors will be after you for the wages they would have received up to the end of their contracts. Basically it is a lose, lose situation. Only a joke of a businessman would do that. If you have money behind you, at least you should spend it to save you money. If you can spend £1000 to save £2000, only an idiot wouldn't do it. DC didn't do it. Nuff said. Football clubs are an expensive things to own. Have your fun, spend as much as you want then when it stops being fun, sell up and get out. Let someone else have a go. Walk away and get on with your life. DC isn't doing that. Numpty.
-
Did you go on?
-
The players want to play and try to win games.
-
Off course they didn't They never do. BBC just put up 'Delay in match' no mention of anyone on the pitch.
-
The players have no intention of taking any action that will in any way disrupt a fixture. They've made that very clear. Don't look to them to get rid of DC. (sorry to shoot you down in flames)
-
I suppose they could always argue that they didn't run on to the pitch. "It was the wind that blew me out of the stand and on to the pitch. Honest, officer"
-
I don't like the phrase 'happy clappers' but you are probably right. Not everyone falls into that group. There are the ones who still support the current regime, there's the ones who want to run onto the pitch , there's also a lot of others who totally disagree with DC but think running on to the pitch is not the best way to protest. I'm in that group. If the ones who want to run on to the pitch decide to do it, then just get on with it. I can't and won't stop you. We've pointed out why we think the way we do. That's the end of it.
