Video- MORE PROBLEMS FOR CHALOBAH
TomtheOwl95 replied to punkyhorrors's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Chalobah is a good footballer. We've seen it in short spells. However, availability is often the best ability. No player wants to be injured. It's just a sad fact of the game and like others have said, if you're in that sort of market, you have to take gambles on players. It's not worked out, sadly. -
Bannan's or Forestieri's
TomtheOwl95 replied to Owl In Black's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
If we're going on their individual strikes (I mean goals, not that kind of strike) v Norwich then it's Forestieri. If we're asking who has the better collection of goals overall then it's Bannan. Obviously Baz has the advantage of having been here a lot longer. -
Have you ever doubted a new signing from day 1?
TomtheOwl95 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Always try to give a player a fair chance. Two I got wrong were Rob Jones and David Stockdale. Hadn't though Jones was that good having seen him at Scunthorpe but was very good for us. Stockdale, didn't really rate him before he signed but grew to like him a lot and think he was massively important in the dressing room in 22/23. -

Thickest fanbase around. The ammount of them unable to grasp that he's put the club and ground into admin makes me wonder how they go about their day-to-day lives.
-
…all those blades, Barnsley and Rotherham fans who are still coming to terms with the loss of their former leader. Even the idea of Wednesday finding an owner who might have their head(s) screwed on has sent them into a meltdown. Hilarious.

and then lost the game after as well. He's a full weight to55er. -
Forestieri and Flint on DC exit.
TomtheOwl95 replied to SheffWed's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I'll never forget Flint's face when DC emerged from the tunnel before the penalty shootout against Peterborough. If ever anything said, 'What the f*ck is he doing here?' It was that moment. Thankfully whatever his brief words of wisdom were didn't put any of the takers off. -
"Knee injury" An ACL is a pretty significant injury. You don't just come back after a few months and it's all fine. Strange thread.
-
Really interesting watch. Interesting to hear Barry speak about it all and some other things. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that Peterborough 2nd leg ever again. An amazing night.
-
Always quite liked the Chupa Chups logo, personally. Think it looks best on that white shirt than the home ones.
-
Feels harsh, this thread. Fusire in any other season would be out on loan. I think he's done OK, personally. McNeil is an odd one. He's looked OK in some games and not great in others. Decision making is an issue. Again, would probably be out on loan if things were different. Ugbo is an odd one. It just hasn't worked out. Still feel he needs a run of starts. The loss of a lot of our wide players and best crossers from the last 18 months doesn't help. All in all though, we're just not a good enough side. It feels harsh to lay too much blame at any of the players.
-
It's one of those things. It's unfortunate for their player, but ultimately nobody did anything wrong. It's one of those things in football where you're annoyed, but there really isn't anyone to blame. Players played to the whistle; the referee stuck to the rules. If it was the other way round, I might bemoan our luck, but I don't think I'd be angry about it.

I just don't see the point of any of this
TomtheOwl95 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Agree. Everything feels pointless at the moment. Heard Saturday's game described as a "big game" the other day and I just thought, is it? It feels like a pointless exercise at the moment (protest aside). It's not Henrick's fault, it's not the players' fault, it's not the fans fault. It's all the clueless idiot at the top. -
Chansiri's name won't be on the shirt in FM15. Unless you've downloaded a 15/16 kit pack?

TomtheOwl95 replied to Pablo Bonvin's topic in General Football Chat
Personally think it makes United's board look really weak. It was an odd decision to swap Wilder for Selles anyway. Annoyingly I think it will have the desired effect. -
Anyone who plays FM will have experienced this in the game. For me it's no better than what we have now. Like the OP says, possibly doesn't effect us but even so, not a fan.

What's your favourite memory.

Everything from kick off V Peterborough in the 2n leg through to walking away from the Civic Reception. Wonderful. -
Are you going to fall for this ahead of early bird?
TomtheOwl95 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Yeah, I get that. My point is that I don't believe it'd be enough to convince people. It'd need to be official. We're past the point "well it looks like" or "so and so says it'll be done". -

If people have decided not to renew/buy a season ticket until Chansiri is gone, then I don't think him saying he's going to sell/agreed a sale/however he phrases it will be enough for most of those people. It'll only be enough when he's confirmed to be gone. Which, I don't will come from him agreeing to sell. -
Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SWFC
TomtheOwl95 replied to bebby's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Don't mind the band. Danny really didn't do anything wrong post January's fans forum. (If it were me I'd have handed my resignation in the morning after). -
The key aspects for me are: Understanding the club they have bought and the area it is in. Having a short, medium and long term plan. We don't need to know every detail but the rough structure would be nice. At least an aim to invest in the youth academy and youth facilities Sensible recruitment (when allowed) looking for value in the market. Taking chances of lower league options, for example .Other clubs seem to do this well, there is no reason why we couldn't. Engagement with fans in the right way. Not just box-ticking meetings with nothing to come from them. Various examples over years of good things club used to do that have faded away. Round pegs in round holes. A director of football (of whatever term you wish to use), head of recruitment to work with the manager for example and a commercial director Basically all the things the idiot who owns it now never did.

Too associated with United. They would only accuse us of copying.

Been saying since the first payment issue that I'd take a season of getting battered week in, week out if it meant getting rid of Chansiri. I'd like a new era to begin in the Championship, of course. But it's unrealistic to expect us to stay up. Squad doesn't have enough quality and depth. This is before you consider a points deduction.
