  1. Fools Gold - Stone Roses Ship of Fools - World Party
  2. I’ve always had a huge soft spot for North Ferriby. My uncle Alan (he lived in Swanland, quite close to them) used to watch them a lot back in the 80s and I’ve always looked out for how they’re doing since then. Decent club and great to see them putting this statement out.
  3. What’s the quickest we can get his name removed? He appears to be doing his very best to wreck the club, spoilt brat that he is, thereby showing total disrespect to us the fans and the club. (Yes I know the reality is that he has been disrespecting us all for 8 years really, but all seems much more pointed in these last few weeks.) Anyway (assuming the sale is going through), getting his name off the seats would - in my opinion - provide a very visible F U in return to his disrespect, and also a clear demonstration of change at the top of the club. Anyone know how we can get this done ASAP - who would we have to agree it with?
  4. That is a thing of pure beauty UTO
  5. This. Happened too many times. Get out of our club Mr Chansiri - this is not responsible ownership or leadership.
  6. I joined an owls news group in about 97 and was on it for years - got all the messages emailed out each day - from an address something like owls@sheff.ac.uk - I’m sure it was hosted by Sheff Uni anyway. There were a lot of good people on there - pretty sure that’s where I first saw eDDie posting (not sure if he’s still on owlstalk now?). Seems SO old fashioned now, but this was very early days of www for all and seemed to work well. Even then, though, there was some nastiness from some people, some racist stuff that caused a few good posters to leave, unfortunately.
  7. Joined in June 2005 - not long after the play off final in Cardiff. 20 years - good grief, that’s a long time!! Genuinely thought we would be back in the premier league before now
  8. Have to say, I always thought it was spelled Bobar, but pronounced Bobbar. Hope that helps
  9. It was when they played that clip from Darren Moore on the big screen, just before kick off, asking for us to get behind the team. I felt this buzz go round the ground, and suddenly everything seemed possible. I’ve been at some fantastic nights at Hillsborough, but that 2nd leg ranks as my favourite - the whole context of the season, the 1st leg debacle, and then how it all came right, setting up a memorable day at Wembley. Like others, I still watch the game highlights on YouTube - in fact have watched the full match again several times. (Yes I know that’s sad, but I still get a buzz from it even now )
  10. Used to walk DOWN Leppings Lane from Middlewood Road - really strong memories of fella on corner of Leppings Lane / Catch Bar Lane selling programmes, yelling out “Programmes……!!!! Official Programmes”…. Such a strong memory that even now in work, if someone mentions “programmes” (I work in Engineering), I come back with “official programmes” (cue lots of blank looks, but there you go!).
  11. I think that if we breathed new life into the team, we could possibly get the balance right….
  12. Queens Park have always been my favourite Scottish Team…… WAQPAW?
  13. “We all follow the Wednesday over land and sea (and Chelsea) we all follow the Wednesday on to victory” (not sure why “Chelsea” was in there, suspect that we nicked it off the S2 lot, who obvs had Wednesday in there?) ((also, not sure if it’s we WILL follow, or we ALL follow - I used to sing WILL, but I got so many words wrong!!))
  14. Was watching it again this morning (and the Wembley final too). Puts a big smile on my face every time…. Also for me the move Bannan, Johnson, Flint, Palmer - just perfect, considering the stage of the game: I almost didn’t go to - I was down in Warwick with work, live in Northumberland, so was driving back past Sheff anyway….had bought my ticket, but in 2 minds whether to go - was SOOOOOO cheesed off after the game at Peterborough….. my wife said to me “what if you don’t go and they win…” and thank goodness I did go! I’ve been to some immense nights at Hillsborough, but that one caps it for me!
  15. Completely forgot to mention Hanwell Town also. We went in The Dolphin pub near St. Pancras after the play-off final, got chatting to a couple there who were mad about Hanwell. Took an interest myself, and now look out for their scores every week too. Southern League Premier: South’s finest
  16. Not thought about foreign clubs….. Will have to include Dukla Prague, thanks to Half Man Half Biscuit
  17. In the interest of balance, can we also list any clubs that we “like”? Mine are: Queens Park (fave Scottish club) Everton (despite so many painful defeats from them - my wife’s family are Everton and I have a soft spot for them) James Corden
  18. And then wasn’t Big Jack in the North Stand for the Chesterfield game? Loads of people asking (begging) him to take the job? Remember the buzz in school when it was confirmed that he’d been appointed. Even our (blade) PE teacher was grudgingly impressed.
  19. Me and @Flat Owl were there - had forgotten all about that “equaliser” - one occasion when VAR would’ve helped. Not exactly intimidating there, but always felt something was about to kick off - both inside and outside the ground …
  20. I was only about 10 at the time, but Tommy Tynan was my first hero, in a not very good squad. Then TC. Then Bannister. Then no-one really till Hirst, Waddle & Nilsson all in the same squad!
  21. I loved those touches with the outside of his boot - a couple of them that just completely wrong footed their defence and created great chances for us
