  1. He’ll probably be ok in L1. The Champ is clearly a step too high.
  2. New ground for me - Fresh new start needed
  3. He’d be welcome back - could probably still do a job for us
  4. We wont - but.. anyone who comes in with serious aspirations of regenerating the club will know what needs to be spent and where. There will be a significant budget to get us out of L1 as that will be the absolute short term priority. We should he able to assemble a decent squad fairly quickly, plus existing players will be more likely to stay on if the conditions and ambition are right , which I would expect them to be pretty sharpish.
  5. The problems were more off the pitch than on. The financial problems were starting to build and there was no leadership/strategy to a way out.. It wouldn't have really mattered who was in charge - the iceberg has been hit and we were starting to sink.
  6. Loved the kit that season. If one had to pinpoint the start of our decline this incident would be a good candidate ..
  7. Move away - fresh start needed at all levels
  8. Hopefully these will fade out under sensible ownership
  9. Good on his day but far too few of them. Terrible signing. Hopefully we can get away from this sort of thing under sensible owners.
  10. People forget his volley in the 81 Cup Final for City in the replay - Villa’s goal was special but MacKenzie’s effort was decent.
  11. I thats what happened at Reading, club with some parallels
  12. One of our worst signings ever pound for pound sadly.
  13. Too many fingers in too many pies - we need someone 100% on us
  14. Worn down from the burden of carrying our previous owner.
  15. That will drive it, but no-one can been seen to screw this up given all the publicity and scrutiny
  16. DC wasn't a businessman, had no understanding of English football or how to run a club. I expect any new owner will be at worst proficient in these areas which means the issues we have endured will not be repeated.
  17. I have no doubts he will do well there - whip them into shape pretty quickly and make them competitive.
  18. Agree - think Shaw is out. ..if some heavy hitters show interest the smaller fish will seen off. Based on all the noise and the fact the club comes with the ground at a bargain price, someone big could come in and finalise this pretty quickly. Any debt wtc will be small change.
  19. Its a good start but much more and scaled up is required, all done consistently and imaginatively.
  20. 4 for me.. 1. Playing side 2. Overall internal structures, youth & training ground etc 3. Proper marketing (we don't and haven't made nearly enough of our name, heritage etc - we need to build a brand. BBC news 6PM referred to us as former League champions and FA Cup winners!! - how many people know this?). We have been terrible at monetising the club. - tonnes of potential. 4. Ground will be last as only really viable when we get into the Prem. Long term strategy, structure to enable and a plan to execute Under the right owner - doable in 5-7 years.
  21. Could do with him on the pitch..
  22. Agreed - he has got sweet FA to work with. The points deduction just confirms the direction we are going league wise.
