Danny Röhl is returning to SWFC
StirlingOwl replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
At no point in this shitshow has Danny Röhl been the problem. whether he’s the manager the first game of the season or not he’s been fully vindicated in his actions in my eyes -
Confirmed, 3 year deal

THE DANNY Röhl LEAVING THREAD
StirlingOwl replied to TodwickOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don’t see this happening, Gerrard has talked publicly in the past about the death of his cousin in the disaster. Being manager here would be a constant reminder -
Not a betting company but we used to have Napoleons Casinos back when Dave Allen was chairman

Selfishly id love to see him back in the squad. Typically we play with wing backs in 352/532 formation which doesn’t suit Palmers play. He was okay when called up , didn’t really show what he could do previously when we were playing a typical 442, I can only recall one error against Czech Republic that cost us the game. I think his time is done to be honest as the options are much younger and have more potential. Plus to cap it off the squad has gone through some massive changes in 4 years. McBurnie, Fleck and Burke are nowhere to be seen. Bannan somewhat stifled Scotlands attack towards the end as everything went through him and onto Fletcher. Gilmour has pretty much nailed that role for himself given his performances at club level.

Nah that’s me -
And still good enough, can see him getting a few more places higher on that list.

George Hirst and Massimo Luongo

Good luck to the lad, could have had it all here but chose to go his own way and create his own legacy elsewhere. Once his career is done he can look back and be happy or wonder what could have been. -

Brain said North, hands typed South point still stands though

Makes me cringe when I see the idiots in the south stand run towards the uncovered corner, they trip all over the covered seats just so they can act the big I am. part of the reason we can’t have nice things from the SAG

This is where I find it all strange, Gordon and Fletcher have played together in the National setup for years. No way can I see Fletcher going all out with intent to injure another pro, one that he knows very well. But then I look at the challenge he left on Sibbick that he should have saw red for and I start to wonder. Or maybe it can all be explained with Fletchers age… loss of pace… going for lost cause balls he would have got to 5 years ago. hence him being out of control.

Even though he’s bounced back from many severe injuries before I think his age is against him this time. One of the best players I’ve seen play for Hearts and a sad way for it all to end.

Clubs are finally waking up to big changes that are coming with the criticism that has been levelled at them for dropping kids and leaving them with nothing if they don’t secure a contract once they exit the academy system. While people might not see it as entirely beneifital to us but if it gives just one kid that opportunity in football they wouldn’t otherwise have got. Then it’s got to be worth it. It doesn’t just have to be a pro football role either, there are strong moves to get kids who don’t make it in the game to persue other avenues such as coaching, refereeing and education programmes. Tie ups like this could help when it comes to players making decisions on the future, having relationships with coaches, players and knowing the facilities could help push a few to sign for us when they drop out of the academy system. Our club has a long way to go when showing clubs we are to be trusted with their players after the number of disaster loans we have had (not playing players and when doing so out of position) and this will help with that.

He came through amateur football, not via an academy so that’s why he’s such an usual player. Moments of genius despite not looking like a pro footballer

Footballer arrested for rape and false imprisonment

Any confirmation? Seen Benjamin Mendy’s name mentioned on twitter -
Like you i've watched him from his early start at Hearts. He's very vocal, not afraid to have a go and a definate leader in the squad. He throws his body around to attack the ball, probably why he's caught a few injuries over the years and he's not afraid to try the unexpected either. He's exactly the sort of player teams hate playing against. I really hope this signing comes off.

Top 5 most hated (opposition) players
StirlingOwl replied to unkastav's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
If you don’t take him seriously he’s actually a funny guy. His politics are different because of his upbringing and while I don’t agree with them I respect his right to have them. Shaun Derry though, what a bellend
