Absolutely this, apart from Pudil, he plays for Handsworth now. I think Northern Premier level is a bit much for him at his age. There's certainly space for both on my footballing life. The experience at Hallam will never replace the visceral emotion of following Wednesday and as soon as he's gone I'll be back like a shot, but it's a really good way to reconnect with the roots of what football should be, particularly in these mad times. TBH, for me it's given me just enough of a boost to keep connected with football over the last couple of years. Without it I may well have fallen out of love with the game altogether.

There's absolutely no way Charles turns out for us in league 1 barring a Birmingham style takeover. He's already a full international and has played a significant number of games in the championship. If (when) we end up in league 1 next season and hes still here, he'll be sold in the summer. The best we can hope for is that we somehow managed to get market value for him when he does go. Same goes for Cadamarteri unfortunately.

From what I can gather he was called up for the Jamaican squad for the game v USA in March 2024 but then was also called up for England u19s the day after. He chose England on that occasion. Whether he was actually announced as being called into the squad then I don't know. The point is, this is the first time he's been called up without another option to prevent him going for Jamaica. I guess it depends on what his future on the England set up looks like. From a selfish club point of view, playing for England is much less taxing on the individual in terms of travel etc, so hopefully he'll continue on that path for the time being.

Last time he was called up by Jamaica he chose to decline and played for the England U19s instead. I could be wrong but I don't think he's ever actually joined up with the Jamaica squad. His international status is still up for grabs so this could well be an attempt by Jamaica to get them to commit to their senior team. Will be interesting to see if he accepts this one as he doesn't look to have been called up by England this time.

Hit 40 consecutive years this year. It will be my last until he's gone. I pray to God he's gone before the start of next season.
