I think we'd get Hillsborough back sooner or later because it's effectively worthless as an asset without a football club to play on it. Wasn't there a condition of the sale to Chansiri that it can't be used for anything else?

This reply makes perfect sense to me. If you're the culture secretary you can't go round pronouncing judgement on individual football clubs! Sport should be free of political influence. That's the whole reason for the "independent" part of the Independent Football Regulator. On the other hand, getting involved in specific cases will be very much the IFR's job.

Poor first half, don't think anyone can argue with that! Felt like more of a 45 minute training session than a match we're going all out to win. Obviously Andorra have come here with one job - park the bus and don't concede - but that's no excuse. Hoping for a few changes at half time given the options we have on the bench.

What were you expecting? The entire population of Andorra to turn up? They've only opened the lower tier but three sides of the ground are all England fans, FWIW.

Honestly Cardiff should be two or three up. After that twenty minutes of clumsy, panic stations defending that was exactly what we deserved.

When we have a keeper who's been starting full internationals before he's started a single league fixture, it only seems fair to give him a chance! Looking forward to seeing his distribution today - definitely his strong suit. Hoping for a rare clean sheet from us to give him some confidence too.

I love Hillsborough - it's a stadium with real character and some beautiful angles - but the longer it goes on without some proper money being spent on it, the more inevitable it becomes that we'll have to tear the whole thing down and start again. What Chansiri has (or more to the point hasn't) done to Hillsborough infuriates me even more than the bust-ups with managers and fans, even more than the time we spent in League One. Even the newest stand's in a state of disrepair.
