It is quite astonishing how far we have fallen as a club since relegation from the Premier League. Most others that have fallen in that time, have made somewhat of a recovery at some point. In the 25 years since relegation from the Premier League we have spent 6 seasons in league one - but when in the championship only secured top half finishes 6 times (3 of which were 12th place mid table) I think but might be wrong with those figures.. I'm surprised more is not made of our demise, but after a quarter of a century, we are essentially today, further behind than we ever have been when starting a season in the championship, I don't mean points totals/deductions I mean overall situation. Our only real highlights in 25 years have been league one campaign successes. Can we honestly as supporters claim to be a big club anymore, or are we just the fans of our own club clinging to some history that we are aware of but most football supporter have forgotten.. The game has moved on and in many ways as a club we have been forgotten about, when general football fans around the world think of Sheffield football, do they think of us first? I'm genuinely not sure they do anymore. I wish I had something better to say, but things can also change very quickly either way and I remain optimistic of a positive direction under new ownership if that happens.

I felt today that after the initial protest outside the ground, and then what appeared to be a really good start to protest in the stadium with the whistles... it all fell very flat for the remainder of the game, maybe their goal killed it.. I agree moving forward more effective ideas should be considered.

I completely agree with you, but I think a lot of it is down to how the message is communicated. There seems to be a narrative in this thread that nobody should have attended today, did I miss that? Id seen about the protest before the game which I attended... I actually think we might see somewhat of a boycott against Leeds as it is being discussed in time for action to be taken, I fully support that. But I only know about this potential boycott by reading on this website. If fans are not on this site or social media, or maybe even casual fans not even that heavily invested with whats happening, it will always be a challenge to achieve the goal of a total boycott.

I understand your passion and what you are saying, but with respect, I think this original post alone promotes lack of unity. You are calling out anyone that attended today, and many supporters did attend the game. Are they all supposed to read this post and feel bad about going? Unfortunately, I have already paid for my season ticket, so of course I will attend. I did attend the protest and also I didn't spend any money in the ground, I would usually spend maybe £10/15 so tried to do my bit. I do think home attendance will get a lot worse as the season progresses, we discussed after the game that as things stand, most home games will be like today, and ultimately we will lose most fixtures. We don't have the overall quality to compete and we don't have the depth of squad to change things. As we continue to lose, people who pay on the day will not attend, honestly, I wouldn't have gone today if I had to pay on the day. I understand there is an argument about staffing/stewarding costs, but regardless this cost will need to be met, as potentially all season ticket holders could attend. Also logistically, it would be very difficult to arrange a protest where nobody attends at all for league home games (nothing had been arranged for today) as I understand there is a potential boycott of the Leeds game, which is fine. But also not everyone uses social media or forums, so again it might not be a total success, people may attend that game, but to call them out creates a further divide.

He won't sell... most things in the media are rumours (some maybe with a bit of substance) that have gathered pace, also the chairman entertaining potential offers with no intention to sell. I hope I'm wrong, but I can only go by what I've been told, by a fairly reliable source, these people are close with historical key club figures, and also they have had personal experiences with our chairman themselves (which were not good) The suggestion is that if he cant make it work then nobody will be allowed the opportunity, under any circumstances. He would rather watch us burn and die than sell. In my opinion the only way for anything to happen short term is for the EFL to step in. But at what point does this happen? When our reserves are losing 7-0 to Leicester at half time? Also I think Röhl has gone back to work on a technicality, I don't think he will be in charge of the first game.

I need to watch that film. I find it bizarre how the club are spending huge amounts of money on the facilities right now. This has to be signed off and paid for by someone? Yet wages are delayed? Its also very strange if you are selling a business to invest millions on facilities, unless you are trying to increase value before selling, but surely we are beyond that now if bids are coming in for the club as it is. The bank may be full of cash, but to make selected payments is a choice. The whole situation is a mess.

I don't think Chansiri wants to sell the club at all, it appears he won't enter negotiations or entertain any offers.. Hopefully I'm wrong.. I also don't believe he is skint as many have suggested. Just because payments are late doesn't mean he doesn't have the money. I think the late payments in recent times are his way of showing he still holds the cards, maybe in response to protests, he will know the absolute deadline for penalties and I imagine this current situation will again be resolved just in time. So much is up in the air... it wouldn't surprise me if Chansiri is trying to ride it out, only to then spend money again backing a manager with transfers, one last shot at trying to win fans around and gain success... I dont think he can let go. I do think we need a change of ownership.

I don't want to lose my seat and enjoy the day out with my dad which is why I've renewed and paid the club for next season, which will be around 28 years in a row, I want to enjoy that time with my dad as he gets older, we have always gone to the game. Does that make me part of the problem? I've recently been made to feel some people think that to be the case? I didn't go today, I had to work, but I can imagine how it was, I've seen it before.. the odd anti Chansiri chant that fades out after 2 faint verses, and some very passionate fans trying to make something happen but no momentum, and a flat overall atmosphere. I understand how much the fans care, we all care a lot. But there is currently a divide in the fanbase. There was more unity in the fanbase at the time for Dave Allen out.. but I also dont recall fans pointing fingers at each other at the time.. As far as match day is concerned in general, a lot of fans attending games just want to support the team on the pitch at the time regardless of the rubbish off the field. Unity is needed now more than ever... Can we stop the blame game of 'some fans didn't support the protests'.. 'you are spending money with Chansiri' .. 'you are the problem by renewing your season ticket'.. 'you are a problem because you didn't boycott the game' This doesnt help anything. Chansiri knows he's done and will be gone one way or the other in the very near future.. I believe the current situation is yet another example of him trying to prove a point before he leaves - just like the tax bill and other examples in the past 'you need me or else' He knows he's out but just stamping his feet for a reaction. Of course the club will suffer from his actions but this is where we are. The biggest disappointment we can all agree on, is that we had struck gold in having one of the best young managers in world football and it's going to go to waste. He would have got us promoted given time. It will likely be seen as another significant 'what if' moment for our great club. We all want the best for the club.

All the fans want the best for this club. Fans don't always agree with each other... I think we can all agree we want to see success and a way out of the last 25 years of decline, most other clubs that dropped out of the Premier League in that time have made some kind of recovery, yet for us it has never happened, not only that but today, once again, we again look more likely to go backwards. All while our neighbours once again look unstoppable with great foundations. When Chansiri first arrived we had some hope of that recovery, which was encouraged by investment and top signings (which most supporters at the time were happy with) he spent money and gambled, but we lost to Hull. If we had won promotion to the Premier League, the money maybe would have changed the club and the last 10 years could have been very different. Overall since it's been a disaster since, I think a lot of supporters wanted to give Chansiri time because he, with his actions, rightly or wrongly, got us into a position where we were one game away in the end, it gave us some hope and if the result had gone our way he could have had a very different legacy. I've given him time and support, as many have, I wanted him to turn it around and get it right in the end, and we can all agree he has made many mistakes... but I think now for the first time, the majority of the fan base will agree that the chairmans time is up and we need some kind of change.

Pierce Charles is highly rated as backup and I assume we will be looking for a new number 1 - Hopefully Beadle on loan

Good move for player and both clubs. I often think people underestimate how well he's done over the years, decent keeper and made some big saves. Put into the side amongst fallouts - maybe before his time and performed well overall - enough to be in the first team.. I always think of the huge penalty save against the pigs at the lane - I dread to think how that night might have turned out had they scored.. Not a Westwood or Pressman - but a decent keeper at Championship/League One level. Good luck Cameron, all the best!

No not as things stand. We must have a change of manager and hope he can find something in these players.

I think it's the worst Championship side I've seen us have since the Premier League, this team will do well to get to 15 points. Our only hope now is that I'm wrong and a new manager can get something from this group. If Chansiri has to pay off the manager I'd be surprised if he gets sacked based on today's statement.

Chansiri suggests in this statement the amount of money he is currently putting in at 2 million a month - If he's personally putting this into the club each month then that is additional funding above and over revenue generated by the business. I see a scenario here where Chansiri may essentially cut all future funding from himself personally to the club and will attempt from now to run the club using revenues only generated organically - I think he's at this point and would now only put money in himself to cover payments that may have legal implications on him as a director, tax etc. Possibly this is the beginning of change - which a lot of people wanted... so maybe its a good thing and where do we go from here? Hopefully a deal can be done with the potential new owners very quickly to ensure continuity and damage limitation for the club and everyone involved... However, if there were no potential new owners... I fear without funding we would likely be insolvent and fall quickly into administration.

I think it's probably best for everyone at this point for Chansiri to leave, however it's worth noting that as a chairman, he's probably put more money into the club than any of his predecessors... Has anyone got a spare few million to keep us going once he's gone? I don't think he'd be getting this amount of stick IF we'd started like Ipswich... He's funded signings, but critically for him he's made an absolutely terrible managerial appointment which is the main reason we are bottom of the league and this is rightly frustrating fans. He has had other managers during his tenure that have done okay and come close to achieving set goals ie Carlos, DM and I think we would have recovered under Bruce. To be this bad this season is down to the manager and the players on the pitch, we've all seen it. Yes it could be argued we'd be doing a lot better under DM (I'm sure we would) however if stories regarding contract negotiations are to be believed then maybe Chansiri did what he thought was right at the time for the club and therefore had to find a replacement. I think the best thing Chansiri can do now for the club and himself in the short term is replace the manager - If Chansiri sells up what's the alternative right now?

Maybe going to West Brom if/when Leeds take their manager?

We are currently trending on Twitter with rumours of players resigning.. With all of the rumours flying around we need to hear something from the club, we need clarification as to what is happening. Silence just fuels more speculation and rumours. What is the plan.. Is there a plan??? Also what can we realistically do as fans, are we happy to just accept our fate and turn up on the day? Can anyone fill me in on the u23s form because the way things are going they will all be getting promoted to the first team in the near future, if we are in a position to start the season at all. There has to be some substance to what we are hearing. No smoke without fire.. The time is now for action to be taken.

Rotherham have got games in hand, so realistically you've got to be looking at catching up with Coventry/Derby, too many points to make up I'm afraid..

I'm not sure, as mad as the chairman appears to be, Im confident he's in it for the long run and not going away any time soon, he is so overly committed financially ... I find it hard to believe myself but even Mr Chansiri must be looking at this and realise we are down, I think he's looking for damage limitation and a quick return to the championship if possible.

Moore has done okay in League One and that's why he has been brought in. Moore knows we are down, but must think he has a chance of getting us promoted back next season, on paper I guess we are a 'bigger club' than Donny.. Our chairman also knows we are down but is expecting promotion straight back to the championship next season, that's why he has brought in Moore. Obvious to a blind man that we are going down.

I turned it off after the 2nd goal. I don't think I've ever done that. I'm not sure what I expected but I think I'm done with this club at least for the immediate future.. I wish I could do something about it.. The powers that be at the club and the players do not deserve our fans in any respect, everyone discussing on this forum, frankly they don't deserve your comment. I'm completely ashamed of the club.
