Think there is more to it than that. All of these kids will have been profiled by scouts all the way through the academy/academies they've been at. They wont be coming on the off chance a youngster plays. They will have a specific brief following up on already identified talent and how they are performing in the senior game.

They are bound by the rules of the competition which will cover what happens in the event the game is abandoned.

I can't fathom why anyone thinks that concrete wall surrounding a pitch is safe, in 2025. This is the 2nd such critical incident that I have heard about, the other being Alex Fletcher at Bath, occurring as a direct consequence in the last. I've also witnessed it at Bamber bridge a player colliding with the wall there and an Ambulance taking them away. Thankfully that player was okay. The FA ought to fund the removal of all concrete walls and replace them with composite fencing. I shudder when I turn up to a game at a ground that has it as you know it's always a possibility that you will end up with witnessing someone suffer a catastrophic injury.
