  1. Yep. Most of the major sports teams (especially in US) are owned by lots of investors who see it as high risk, high reward, bit of fun, without a massive outlay. Given that view they also are unlikely to spend their precious time negotiating directly but defer to people like Flanagan, who has a track record, and Adam Shaw, who has the local contacts. People need to get over this idea of a single white knight owner, it increasingly isn’t the norm.
  2. Maybe I missed it but are we sure that Shaw and Walton are different bids? Flanagan says they represent a lot of different parties including owners current sports franchises. Could that include Broncos/Waltons, Mets/Cohen?
  3. Not a fan of this formation, requires Baz and/or Charles to sit deep which limits our options. If Milwall pin them back it puts pressure on Josh/Gas/Mas to create in the final third, which despite their technical strengths, are none of their strongest assets imo. Really enjoy seeing Charles break forward too, and definitely hard to deal with. Absence of Marv is another black mark against our creativity, but think he picked up a knock last time.
  4. Will ex-managers substituting suffice? Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Garry Monk
  5. Not sure if IQ is the factor here, rather we all find it very hard to grasp the rapid change in game tactics. Fact is that Leeds of last night - in terms of advanced tactics and quality of players - would be competing with top 10 in PL a decade ago, the game has moved that fast. These days 442 and lump it doesn’t cut it, it’s way too easy to respond against. People can’t seem to understand or adapt to this change - maybe they are thick, but the game is complicated these days and lots of people don’t put a great deal of thought into football (busy, disinterested). My bigger worry is the quality of our squad remains way below Championship median and that other teams are rapidly catching up with the tactical advantage we had with Danny last year. You can see that many clubs are moving in this direction with appointment of modern progressive managers across the league (notably both Sunderland and Leeds, notably not Plymouth).
