I have friends inside and outside of football mate. The friends I go to the football with are largely on the same page however there’s some that still go and I respect that. They have paid money for ST’s. They fully support the efforts by not spending anything in the ground. never once thought we would fall out mate. If there’s one thing we are 100% aligned with is that!! for the record, I’ve never told anyone what to do or not do…I’ve simply asked questions about the reasons for still going or not boycotting.

An individual trophy based on club and country achievements...makes zero sense!!

Based on the highlighted comment, i feel you're moving the goalposts quite considerably here to suit a failing argument/justification. We're talking about matchdays and in particular a Saturday boycott, to which my response was...Still meet up but go to a pub in Hillsborough to watch the game, have your friends and family meet ups. Your comments are now implying it's about a general "meet up". What are you on about? why can't you all meet up if you don't go to the game??? you're talking pony mate. I just think that a lot of people are hooked up on "having to go to the game" and i think some a viewing it as a badge of honour "I WAS THERE" kinda thing. The cold reality is that the clown who owns us is using the hard earned cash (ticket sales, merchandise sales & money from food & drink) from every single one of us to fund ventures away from Hillsborough. He's not even using it to pay the staff for christ sake!!!!!!! He has and continues to put us on the brink of irreversible damage!! In terms of what i have sacrificed....i have given up my ST (2 years ago), associated points, away tickets, my membership (this season) and days out with friends etc... so please don't sit there and say "i'm sacrificing jacksh*t"!!

I addressed your points. I don’t particularly agree with any of them however, they’re personal to you so as long as you’re ok mate…sod the rest. your first point about people coming from Lincoln is laughable. It’s an hour on the train, hardly Timbuktu. Sentiment I fully understand and I’ve lost two very good friends in the last 3/4 years (both 40 or under), plus lost family members over the years. Again, not really sure why it would stop anyone doing the right thing and hounding this cretin out. But like I said, I’m happy for you
-
I understand sentiment i really do but this situation goes far beyond that as well...if this carries on, you won't be sat in your seat with memories, as the club will be out of business!! I really don't think the trust are asking for too much in relation to ONE, full on boycott. Every single person!! it's for the greater good and the long term interests of everyone who are still able to go and enjoy the games.

Are taxis free on a matchday and does Lincoln become 30 minutes closer on a Saturday afternoon? I am sure alternative arrangements could be made to meet up with friends and family. People still have choices available to them. It was on Sky on Saturday, could have met in one of the pubs close to the ground or on neutral ground somewhere...i feel like this ia little bit of justification/excuse. I 100% agree that going to the game itself does bring people together but a short term sacrifice will bring long term gain!! Buying a black and gold scarf and then spending £25.00 on food and drink inside the ground, make zero sense whatsoever.

It’s character building that’s all.

Pitch Invasion - how many!?
Wednesday_Jack replied to Kevowls1's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
i’m not 100% sure it’s a valid reason and would get anyone away with charges. it’s a criminal offence and they love to make examples of football fans (regardless of the situation) Ive been there and done it and it’s not worth the aggro. -
Sheffield Wednesday vs Birmingham omdt

agreed…if he stands up, it at the right height. The dive took him lower than he needed to be. -
Now it’s the players turn
Wednesday_Jack replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
an OTT reaction. There’s some anger in there!! I get the gist of the idea…this clown keeps breaching his own contract and payment obligations so maybe something as serious as players refusing to perform their contractual obligations may be the way to get to get the relevant authorities involved. hopefully the timing of this months episode is right on queue, with the regulator about commence. -
Adam Reach has still got it
Wednesday_Jack replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
strongly disagree!! There was a period under Jos were he single handily carried us. Adam Reach was never a crunching LWB that some thought he was or was expected to be. Very unfair for people to think that’s what he was, technically he was a very good player. -
that was it

So let me give you one or two fact from our L1 promotion winning season that for some reason you have forgot about. 2022 /2023 we went up via the playoffs despite posting a club record 96 points, went 19 games unbeaten and kept lots of clean sheets...Palmer played 52 games that season (44 in league), scoring 6 goals in the process.... On 19 April 2023, Liam Palmer was awarded the Wise Old Owls Player of the Season award and On 30 April 2023, Liam Palmer was named Player of the Season, Players player of the Season, and a Lifetime Achievement award (copied from wiki). So i am not sure that the 13/14 season is his best season. The 22/23 season was by far an away he's looked for us and that was in League 1. I am not his biggest fan and have never been sold on him at Championship level but we are were we are.
-
Said it for years, if Palmer was a £2m signing in DC's first season, he would have had pelters from three sides of Hillsborough most Saturday's and he'd have been offloaded many moons ago. The "one of our own" status has kept him alive and well IMO. His best season was the L1 promotion season where he was as fit as anyone in the league and was solid for 80% of that season. Besides that, it's a no from me.

Wednesday_Jack replied to Rotherham Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No that's not what was said but have you seen our results and performances from the league games? What have you seen to suggest otherwise? Can you honestly say that the season will end in anything other relegation? The squad is lacking quality and depth, to a point i am not even sure how good it would be in L1. Some fans have got their boobies in a tangle about the lack of goals and creativity...i am more concerned about what their expectations where for this season. I am a realistic person and i am expecting nothing but a record breaking relegation season...let's not lose site of the fact that this is simply down to one man!!! -

the league is over!!! We won’t get 10 points with this squad. We’ll be lucky to score 20 goals with this squad -
