Talented player that almost always had a positive impact. I always quite liked his "arrogance" and enjoyed his humour, too, tbh. My only slight gripe was that he could've been so much better if he just has a bit more mettle about him. But nobody's perfect.

I'm not disputing that he's bad value and has been a poor signing as a result. But that is very often confused with him being a bad player, which he definitely isn't. It's shame he can't put a run of games together because his quality would shine through if he ever could. How many like that have we had in the past? I don't know the number, but it's definitely too many!

Nobody disagrees about the first words, and because of that, I think pretty much everyone would take Will Vaulks over him. Put he's paid on the basis of how good he is, not his brother. He's very obviously a class act when he plays.

Hopefully... Charles Iorfa - Cooper - Lowe Valery - Chalobah - Bannan - Amass Ingelsson Cadamarteri - Ugbo* *because he's on fire in training and almost certainly going to bag a brace. Go on Ike!!! ...but probably not.

Cobblers! He'd be playing his trade in the top flight if he could keep himself fit. As it stands, despite always building fitness and being wary of getting injured again, he still makes us a better side on the rare occasions that he plays.

We're a much better side whenever he plays. It's just a shame that doesn't happen anywhere near as often as it should.

Cobblers! It's an undeniable fact that ALL the pressure is on them. Just as it is for every other side we play this season, tbf. Sure there are some vindictive blunts out there that detest us, and vice versa. Most on both sides are decent folk though. We're generally talking about friends, family, neighbours, and colleagues here. A victory might bring them a sense of relief, but there'll be no "great pleasure" in kicking us while we're down. No bragging rights this time. That's why it will be hollow when compared with more equally matched games. Even Wilder will have to pretend to be magnanimous (he'll be fooling nobody!)

The Velodrome is far too flat/shallow/open and massively over-lit (judging by that photo). It's like all the atmosphere has to be generated through cheesy dance tunes being pumped through the PA system. @El Wednesday

Better in terms of how it would retain some tradition, to combine with the modern curve that I'm suggesting. It's the difference between adding a high-quality modern extension to a beautiful old house with loads of character, which can work really well when the two are clearly different, and adding a badly executed extension to a meh 60s house that is functional enough but has nothing interesting about it and trying-but-failing to make them match.

I think it can be done much better than that. And our Kop & South stands are much better than Stoke's West & South stands. So, we're halfway there already.

I said in another thread that I hope the North and West stands are replaced "together as one". We could have a hybrid stadium. Half traditional, half modern bowl.

I'm hoping it'll be replaced, along with the North Stand and Leppings Lane End... all in one go. One big stand, sweeping around the corner, and including safe-standing signing areas for both home fans (behind goal) and away fans (in corner).

If he had a choice, he'd've appointed Chris Wilder.
