  2. HP didn't help himself today, but the players let him and the fans down badly. If we'd have fought for every ball and been up their backsides all the game and lost, then so be it. But we didn't and the manager has to accept some responsibility. This was the big test of the season so far, and we failed miserably.
  3. To try to be objective, he or any of our strikers are getting virtually zero service, so you can't score if we aren't getting the ball in their box. However, this does not excuse a lack of effort closing players down - Shekki Kuqi wasn't brilliant but he chased down defenders across their back line and forced errors. Fans loved his workrate as you could see he was doing his best and putting a shift in. It's just not working for him and only he and the coach have any chance of working it out. If they can't then he has to be first on the list out of the door in January.
  4. We've battled well and worked really hard all season. The players have deservedly been praised for it. But today, in the game we wanted it most, we didn't reach anywhere near the intensity that is needed or righly expected in a derby game. Today of all days. So the players need to rightly criticized for an abysmal performance. They let us down today.
  5. We have to become more industrial with the kind of players we have. It has cost us time and again this season fannying around with the ball at the back. I agree with Scram - Valery was sadly half asleep and should have done a first time pass to whoever it was on our left wing, instead of controlling and it and turning into trouble - he must have known there was a man up his backside.
  6. I am struggling with this 'tired' team perspective. They are professional athletes coming off a 2 week break, having played just 15 games before today.
  7. How can professional athletes be knackered after a 2 week break? We've only played 16 games.
  8. Dinosaurs were part of the world's rich history, wonder where they are now?
  9. I agree almost wholeheartedly, but that was abysmal today and there's no sugar coating that we did not turn up to one of the two only remaining big games of the season.
  10. They closed us down really well and consistently throughout the game, which disrupted any of our play. We largely failed to do that. I'd say that's more fitness, desire and attitude, with quality not playing as much a part in that part of the game. I wish we'd have closed them down like they closed us down so effectively.
  11. Let me try and put it another way. I've been proud of this team given the cards they have been dealt, and they've battled like mad and worked their socks off. Sadly, I wasn't proud today as we simply did not turn up in one of the two big games we have left all season. In fact, that was our worst performance all season, even considering the Coventry game. They were a whole 2 real points ahead of us at kick off, just for some perspective. I expected to lose, but not in that manner.
  12. I've defended this team as the odds have been massively stacked against us and they've been fighting like mad - but that was absolutely horrendous. Couldn't string 3 passes together, they outfought us, our defence was as dodgy as it comes, and their keeper could have been shopping at Meadowhall. Thankfully it wasn't 5 or 6, but that was abysmal and against a team just 2 real points ahead of us at the start of the game, and with the benefit of a big crowd behind us. Only hope this is our lowest ebb, I know it's not popular, but our players let us down today.
  13. I agree with the injury record, but when he has played he has often looked decent, but we lack the benefit of minutes on the pitch.
  14. He was intimating last night that he would be available, and also Bamford, who had played 45 minutes for the U21's.
