  1. No point trying - most fans been short sighted and prioritise short term outcomes over almost anything else. This the popularity of spendageddon threads from Rhodes through to Ugbo. Any talk of sense, bigger picture or perspective is lost.
  2. Exactly this! I’d not mind one bit setting a new low points record or not putting a point on the board this season if it meant we oust Chansiri and get to start again without him next term. If he exits before then great! But even then I’d be bringing in players for next season not this season.
  3. The two I mentioned. Both senior pros, both on bench, both add energy and give someone a rest.
  4. I don’t understand the logic of not using your subs when under constant threat. Must be tiresome defending 85mins. great effort from those on pitch, fans too! Kind of shocked Ugbo and McNeil can’t get on despite our players running on fumes.
  5. I fear that is the case yes. It’s a very strange situation that an owner can outright refuse to sell despite not having the funds to continue.
  6. Feels pretty shybo to be finally selling players and doing business but under the shocking conditions we’re under it’s likely not an optimum outcome. I just wish we’d sold others earlier and were better run! Buying Ugbo looks an absolute horrible decision 12 months on.
  7. Love the optimism - it’s a breath of fresh air! Please don’t let some of these negative replies diminish your hope! Hope is all we have.
  8. Quite a bit of offence took. But we’ll see if anyone isn’t paid up and leaves.
  9. I disagree. We often sign players then regret it. We certainly will have players we don’t want to keep and would allow to leave without termination fees. We’ll see if any leave. If they do I’d assume someone at the club was not keen on them staying.
  10. Isn’t it the case that the club has 15 days to make them whole and if still unpaid they’re allowed to leave? My understanding is the club will have paid the ones it wants to keep but I guess time will tell.
  11. So, in that case we get bought by some wealthy guy with zero idea how to run the club. You’d be fine with Chansiri’s advisors staying in place as they are 0% to blame. Noted.
  12. This is it for me too. I’ve worked in environments where one guy resides over every decision and you have to butt heads with them almost daily. In my experience the guy at the top seemed to enjoy being challenged although 8/10 folk would never do that. I’m not sure Chansiri enjoys the being challenged bit. The buck ultimately stops with Chansiri, I don’t think anyone can disagree with that but is he solely to blame - no! Obviously no. For example with transfer dealings. Half of our disastrous transfers would have been someone else’s suggestion, some of these the fans were almost unanimously in favour of. He knows fizz all about football so if our fans are in favour of it, what’s stopping him from doing it? He needed better advisors, stronger managers and someone to say “no sir, that’s not how it works.” Or “no, I don’t want or need Rhodes/Ugbo/Boyd/Lowe….. “
  13. I thought that the last time we went down. We then assembled dad’s army! Our academy finally starting to churn out prospects so let’s build a team of youngsters. Follow on from Musaba, Gassama, Bernard type players and snap up the divisions best out of contract players to go with. As a fan base we’re almost as bad as the chairman for short term mentality, let’s play foundations properly and quit all this nonsense about next window, this season…. That’s the thinking that puts the entire club at risk in 3-5 seasons.
  14. Personally I couldn’t care less about this season so long as DC is gone. Deductions, no players, no staff, playing the kids, not winning a game all season….. small price to pay! Anything more than that is a bonus.
  15. This. There are plenty of reasons to complain, but this is just part of being a football club. &nbsp
  16. Yep, best for all involved as he won’t realise potential here.
  17. May 2012 on this account but from before then. From pre Franny Jeffers as I remember commenting on our need for a striker for years and being excited at opportunity of us signing him. Oh how I’ve been disappointed
  18. Yea, I get that. What I don’t get is removing plus/minus 10m of revenue as a good will gesture and not having it impact the bottom line. Exciting times with loads of opportunity though! Just going from 500/800 down to 100 as a gesture may be a stretch.
  19. This, look at Newcastle having to sell star youth talents to comply. I’m sure there is some financial loopholes but slashing revenue would no doubt lead to breaches in FFP.
  20. left sided CB are a rare entity, as a back up / stand in he’s more than capable.
  21. and Yet he extended Iorfa, Palmer, Johnson…… people missed that we didn’t sign a CB but Röhl extended 3 of their contracts (Bernard too). Some players we retain shock me, but I guess balance of continuity and improving.
  22. His goal involvement stats must be up there with anyone else /90 mins. I’m still of the opinion that him, Gassama & Ugbo as a front three, all confident, fit and firing will be as good as anything we’ve had since the Hooper days!
  23. Agree with that. I thought we’d either negotiate a lower contract for smith / Pato and keep one or other. Triggering Smith’s clause likely keeps him as one of our top earners, which despite last seasons increase in output I’m not sure that we gain decent ROI from.
  24. Maybe because the salary was spent on the guy leaving? Just a thought, I could be wrong. Am I on crack? For what? You do t think Musaba is a valuable asset to this squad at likely a cost reduction to what we were paying for Smith, Hunt, Icke when in L1. Wow. Here I am thinking our transfer policy is better maybe you long for the days of one last big contract signings.
  25. Absolutely! Under appreciated here at times but we require better now or a back up that can improve in years to come rather than decline.
