  1. i think the away support has been immense and gets us noticed, they have been a credit to our club, i support it now but i didnt initially. playing devils advocate here though, would it not be in our best interests if we didnt sell any for away games, i think many championship clubs would put the EFL under huge pressure missing on 3000 away fans up and down the country, thats some serious revenue for clubs.
  2. i was really looking forward to pressure being applied by lack of sales in the early bird, however i think the slack will be taken up by player sales ie Charles, Weaver, Brown and Bernard. We finally get a group of youngsters coming through and it couldnt be worse timing.
  3. it would be good for the Trust to engage with all other groups on FB X etc, make it a concerted effort where we all stand as one and boycott this match. would send a huge message.
  4. i will keep away as requested. i overheard some one with a black and gold scarf saying they were wearing it to support the protest but also openly admitted they had just bought a drink and it was kind of like hey ho. i was staggered.
  5. saw this on FB WAWAW from a coventry fan Joe Rukin deposnortS93283h2c8h1il4l7a2ga8h69f90l00m83t61uc17186t5haigl · I come in peace, as Coventry City fan. But not just as a fan, but I actually organised some of the protests, not against the last set of owners, but the set of crooks before them over twenty years ago. The thing is, and I’m not just saying this because I am coming up on Saturday, but going straight for the nuclear option of causing a match to be abandoned, that won’t cut it and it will lose you support in the wider football community. And going there, before the lower options of disruption means you’ve nowhere left to go, you can’t escalate. And thinking it’s a TV match, yeah, it’s not the main TV match. With the expansion of 12.30 kick-offs this season, literally the only people who will watching this are the fans of our two clubs, and maybe there will be people glancing at it in foreign bars that have twelve screens. You know your owner doesn’t give a poo, but you haven’t gone through the learning experience we did for two decades: the Football League doesn’t give a poo. I mean we were sort-of declared bankrupt twice, we ended up moving out of Coventry twice. The Football League did not give a poo about Coventry City not playing in the City of Coventry TWICE. That’s a level of perspective you may be missing here. You want to have a protest and disrupt the match, fair enough, but don’t feel that an abandonment will make any more impact to the Football League than a disruption would. In all the years we had protests, we NEVER ONCE caused a match to be abandoned If your goal is for the Football League to notice, then go to their London offices, I would say when you play Charlton, but more likely Millwall, as that’s a midweek, so for those of you who can take the time off, that’s what I’d be doing. You should also really have been asking us to go with the black and gold thing. That was out away kit last season. I’m sure we’d have gone for that if you’d asked. But you seem not to have thought of us as other football fans who have had problems and might sympathise. That is disappointing, For example, many years ago we worked together with the plastic pigs at The Valley. You should have done that, at least treat the fans of a club which has gone through the grinder with the respect that should deserve. We did that with Charlton Athletic. You should have done that with us. Hope you get your terrible owner to sell, but his ownership is not our fault! Please don't punish us for that. Years ago we held pitch invasions during a live TV game (which was THE TV game at the time), and the moment that second invasion ended, the Blades scored and we lost..... im sure he feels like hes in a position to offer a bit of good advice but to me it comes across as a selfish act, cant help but feel like he doesnt want the game abandoned due to them having some momentum at the minute. or have i read it wrong.
  6. im not convinced by the going on the pitch at this stage of the season, regulator is due in November and if anything we want the EFL onside. we need to keep up the pressure as we are doing and the money he receives is kept to a minimum. EFL will support protests if done in a correct manner. if the regulator or DC isnt forced to sell come January/February then i think thats the time for the gloves to come off.
  7. Its black and gold until its sold.... not black and yellow ... for hes a jolly good fellow ffs
  8. hed be an asset to any club and its pretty sad that club isnt Wednesday.
  9. I was as dissapointed as the next person to see fans drinking especially when i had gone to the match straight from work and was gasping at half time but abstained. kiosks shut, no longer a queue in the 1867 lounge, its definately working but its unreasonable to expect a total boycott, odd person here and there isnt going to halt the impact of the majority.
  10. Not everyone is getting the message, they just can’t be, I had someone say to me that the scarves were black and yellow
  11. Really enjoyed our performance and the lads did brilliantly considering all the drama around the club. I voted Dom but Amass was fantastic too, plug and play for next game, all deserve to keep the shirt, I will say that I thought Jamal Lowe came on and really seemed up for it, didn’t think I’d ever say that
  12. Majority of fans are not buying drinks etc but there is still quite a few in the 1867 bar having drinks at half time
  13. done it, by eck it takes some time though....20-30mins or so
  14. ought to be a seperate thread for people wanting to buy shirts that dont fit the original purchaser, bet its happened quite a bit
  15. to be fair the support of the away fans has been fantastic along with support from the opposition which cant be underestimated. all these things put pressure on him. i was all for no away tickets being purchased but the media attention has been tremendous.
  16. Be like playing for u23s
  17. could certainly have played at an higher level, sold himslef short.
  18. could be top 23 and we would still miss out.
  19. i moan about Palmer as much as the next supporter, however im more than happy that he has remained at our club filling in at multiple positions throughout his time. fair paly to the lad, he does sometime get a little too much critisicm
  20. you could possibly be right but i think the numbers will be well down on previous seasons, id be very surprised if we even got 5k
  21. we absolutely benefited from a genuine injury, Brown wouldnt have got to that ball first so it probably would be deemed as unsporting behaviour. its not often we get that kind of thing go our way so i will take it and in every game this season if need be.
  22. Probably puts a spanner in our efforts to oust DC with fans not renewing after christmas, just when the light seemed to be shining we get this. could allow him to keep hold of the club till the summer at least.....
  23. his lack of awareness is his achilles heel, only sees it once its happened unfortunatley, best chance hes got is at right back.
  24. wouldnt be surprised if that comment has come from a staff member, i spoke to one recently and he hates DC with a passion but he insisted fans should still be buying in the ground as thats the only way they will get paid. bit of self preservation involved i guess but cant really balme them if they arent getting paid.
