  1. We will welcome back David Hirst, Chris Waddle, Terry Curran, Imre Varadi, Mel Sterland and Rodger Wylde for a pre-match treat to remember! The super six will be available for signings and selfies in the Megastore between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. The official club store opens from 12 noon on Wednesday right up until kick-off (7:45pm).
  2. Donated! I’m taking my 18 month old son down to the club shop later to get him re-kitted out.
  3. Is this fund raising to achieve the £20,000 in the thread title? Or is it in addition to that initial £20,000? The title implies £20,000 has already been donated by The Trust? Either way it’s a MASSIVE effort.
  4. I think that was the midweek game before the 91 league cup final.
  5. Was that midweek, just after Norwich beat Sunderland in the Milk Cup final?
  6. ………and me!!!!!! I got the full match video as a Christmas present, but can’t remember if it’s in VHS or DVD.
  7. Harthill Owls flag in the top left corner.
  8. Glad you’re safe! Whereabouts on the M1 did you crash?
  9. I’ve been thinking about this since the game got moved and it’s absolutely appalling. Have SYP (and Sky) got no respect? I lay a wreath on behalf of my cricket club at the village war memorial every Remembrance Day and it’s a really really moving experience that puts modern stresses / pressures into perspective and it’s not something I’m prepared to miss. Hopefully there will be a turnstile open for late arrivals because I’ve got 12 miles to travel to the match. BOTH clubs should align and say to SYP (and Sky) they refuse to kick off until 12.30 or 13.00. Some things are much bigger than football.
  10. He’s a manager at the Anstone works at Kiveton Park Station.
  11. I was 9 years old and Wednesday mascot for the West Ham game. I remember seeing the tv footage of the fire in one of the lounges at Hillsborough after the game and not fully understanding what had happened but knowing it was very serious. There was also a lot of trouble in the Birmingham v Leeds game on the same day, that for obvious reasons got much less coverage. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/worst-football-violence-west-midlands-9684447.amp
  12. I reckon about 900 league games 41 season tickets, gets me to 780-800 home games. Over 100 away grounds as well.
  13. Ticket office just called and I’ve got one…….does anyone have a spare for my mate?
  14. This is going to be a HUGE issue. You stop going to matches, find something else to do on a Saturday which is probably less expensive and more enjoyable……and never get back into the routine / addiction of going to matches. Add in the multiplier effect…..you stop going, which means you then don’t take your kids (which also hits merchandise sales), so we end up losing a generation of fans. Plus, if my mates aren’t going, then I’ll stop going as well. 3,000 ST x £500 (average, guess) = £1.5M in lost revenue in a year……….but then if you start projecting that per year over 5-10 years, it becomes an extremely significant amount of lost revenue.
