  1. Great article which very much chimes with my perceptions of Röhl and Chansiri. We lost a brilliant manager in Röhl who will flourish even more outside of the Clown show operation Chansiri presides over. The article would suggest Bannan still held Röhl in high regard right to the end.
  2. You mean the temporary repairs were carried out by this guy. DC really is thumbing his nose at us all
  3. Is the Patrick Weaver suggesting we support the young boys against Leeds any relation to the young Weaver that played in the cup?
  4. What about the time Xisco played Bannan as lone target man?
  5. I thought he looked a really promising talent when he made some cameo appearances for the first team a couple of seasons back. Didn’t he have a fairly significant injury in the last year or so?
  6. I thought SWFC came off of Twitter. Did I imagine that?
  7. What’s your source for this one? Normally helps with establishing if there’s likely to be any truth to it.
  8. Win = good. Lose = bad. Nuff said! There’s a real freedom in such simplistic thinking. I envy you
  9. I’m definitely not his biggest fan but always happy to be proved wrong. He was fantastic today and got my man of the match vote. He deserved to be on the winning side today.
  10. No worries! Pleased to be the bearer of such good news, and to be able to “give back” when I had the opportunity.
  11. I posted in the other Bernard thread yesterday as I’ve found myself in the unusual position of being ITK. He was weighing up our offer and an offer from West Brom. Their offer topped ours slightly. Wanting to be part of Röhl’s project and his importance in the team sealed the deal. He’s signed a 3yr contract so we’ve learned our lesson. Pivotal signing for us!
  12. Signed, sealed, delivered! Do I get an ITK badge in the post?
  13. Our 3-0 win against them at the end of last season has obviously left a lasting impression on them
  14. ITK (for the first and most likely last time). Bernard is close to re-signing for us but weighing up a late offer from West Brom. Sounds like the balance is in our favour.
  15. Xisco ball. You will never witness a more defeatist set up than we had under Xisco.
  16. Ironically those that are so quick to call the team bottle jobs, or accuse the team of bottling it, are in fact weak willed bottle jobs themselves. Ready to throw in the towel in the face of adversity. One thing this team doesn’t lack is bottle. We’d have been relegated long ago if it did.
  17. I’ve always thought Lee Hendrie sounds like he’s sat on the toilet suffering through 90 minutes of severe constipation
  18. When do tickets for the Leeds game go on sale?
  19. Which one of those took over from a manager and a team responsible for the worst start in the history of the Championship? A side that had amassed precisely zero wins and failed to beat league 2 opposition on two separate occasions. I’ll help you out here….none of them.
  20. Yes there have been threads criticising refs after matches before on a fairly regular basis. There is, however, plenty of thinly veiled sexism, ‘woke’, ‘quotas’, ‘can’t say anything these days…’ drivel being trotted out here. If the red card turns out to be justified for an off the ball incident (and likely a call made by the linesman anyway) then it was a decent performance. I’m not sure where the suggestion that she lost control of the game is coming from either. What was the bit where control was lost?! She clamped down on dissent and rightly so, and wasn’t fooled by some of the antics from Preston. There were some decisions you could debate e.g. they should have had a corner but how often is there a game without a single debatable decision? No other ref gets their Swfc refereeing CV brought up for discussion alongside the evaluation of their latest refereeing performance. Why is that? Is it because she’s a woman and we can all easily remember the games we’ve had refereed by a woman because it’s so rare. Yes, the penalty decision in the Oxford game was a rubbish one but this attempt to tally up any bad decision she makes is lazy, and not something that the male refs are being subjected to.
  21. A glimmer of hope amongst the gloom. I wasn’t expecting him to sign after his trial at Brentford. It’s nice to see us keep hold of a promising youngster.
  22. No doubt there are better strikers, but as others have pointed out, it’s the system that’s making us look so toothless. Gregory did as well as he could with what he was given.
  23. He’s coming back after an operation and shortened pre-season. Seems more than a little harsh to discount last season and judge him entirely on today…
  24. Agree 100%! Yes, we did a lot of recruitment shortly before the season started but we’ve got some very obvious established players that we should be using at this stage to manage any transition. James has to be playing LB. Johnson should be starting in the wide left role, but as an absolute minimum should be on the bench. Musaba and Gassama look like they need to be slowly introduced to the side from the bench. Gregory did as well as he could in such an isolated role. I think he’s our best striker but Smith was the obvious choice in the system. Bannan is totally wasted in this role. Windass should ideally play that role or as one of the wide players. Totally ridiculous that Paterson was picked ahead of Windass to come on from the bench. Without doubt today was a case of clipping our own wings.
