  1. This really proves the level of player we've had to rely on the second half of the season just gone, admittedly he can play in League one but still. It's been clear as day Ihiekwe is league one at best, and yet he's had to play every game in the Championship for us because of how poor our club is run. Big summer needed....
  2. Never affording him and Ugbo. Hopefully get some loan cover in.
  3. If you'd of said to me at the end of last season that we'd be starting the 24/25 season with... Röhl on a new contract. Bernard, Windass, Iorfa, Charles Bannan & Palmer all on new contracts. Beadle & Ugbo back. I'd of snapped your hand off for that alone. The fact we've added further quality & strength in depth in other areas with more loans to come (confirmed by Danny) puts us in such good shape. Up the owls.
  4. This signing is huge, and so rare for Sheffield Wednesday. 25, proven goal scorer. 20+ goal season for him incoming, with Musaba & Gassama hitting 10+ G&A too. Bernard continuing to excel too. Finally we'll have sellable assets next summer, and can begin to turn this club around.
  5. But there was a high volume of season tickets purchased for this season, and admittedly yes he's pulled a strong coaching team together. However, when that coaching team needed backing in the January transfer window the backing wasn't there. Ugbo & two deadline day panic signings does not bode well for Summer...I suppose the positive is we have that many players out of contract in a way Chansiri will be forced to back Röhl to field a team, and a team full of Röhl players is an exciting prospect.
  6. I'm really struggling with this. I live a five minute walk from my seat on the Kop. The Wednesday games are the highlight of my week. Haven't renewed due to all the valid reasons listed ten times over above. I'm now 50/50 as to whether I renew. Last season for me personally before I'm out the country for a few years, so probably should...but. How stupid are we all going to feel renewing at the higher phase pricing, then Chansiri sucks the life out of the club over summer again, shoddy last minute recruitment and Röhl leaves? It's incredibly frustrating as he has an open goal in front of him. In the first week following the Sunderland he game needs to secure Röhl a contract extension, and then release a paragraph statement stating we're aligned on summer recruitment plans and look forward to seeing you all again next season. That alone would reassure so many fans. I do fear the worst again. The realist in me says Röhl meets with Chansiri, realises he won't be backed, doesn't sign a new contract and gets poached over summer for a top six job and we're back to square one. Pretty sure Leeds will be looking....
  7. Jonathan Panzo has just gone back to Forest after his loan spell at Cardiff cut short. Hasn't been able to get a look in there for whatever reason. Left footed ex England Under 21 CB, just under 30 appearance for Coventry in the play off run last season. I would hope we're all over that to keep Bambo out the side.
  8. I wonder how many of the people winging in this thread will be joining the protest on Saturday........
  9. Hi all, Just missed the bracket before sell out, I’ll be in Hull with other half’s family all day on Saturday. Desperately trying to avoid the home end with them…. Any spares I can pick up in Sheffield next week, or Hull on the day. Thanks!
  10. Would love to see us make a move for Jerry Yates of Blackpool, 26, 14 goals in 41 games last season, a year left on his contract. 4m for him and Reece James please.
  11. Can meet with cash before Bolton game if anyone has a spare
  12. Thanks all, appreciate it!
  13. Does anyone know what time the players get to the ground please? Taking a kid with us tomorrow to his first game and he's wanting to see them. Thanks
  14. Doesn't matter, we can't take that risk again. Injuries cost us last season, so glad to see we're not risking it again this season and keeping / resigning players that can only manage half a season.
  15. Played five games for us last season across a season long loan, FIVE. Don't know how many times it needs saying, but we don't need injury prone players.
  16. The original post clearly states the other things they've got right.
  17. Poor on the pitch yes, loved beating them home and away every season, but each year they still had young players to sell for big money.
  18. Forgot about the sales of Burke and Bereton too! Hopefully Wednesday will turn a corner and start producing a similar standard one day.
  19. Completely agree that they have spent, but spent wisely too in the most part. And like I say it's covered off by that academy producing players like Joshnson, Cash, Worrall and Yates.
  20. I know loads of Forest lads from uni so keep an eye on them, currently a great example of how to run a football club; - Invest heavily in their academy, put trust in the young players coming through and reward them with lengthy contracts early doors before heads are turned (something we fail to do but are hopefully starting to (Cadamarteri). When the interest comes they sell and make big money. (Matty Cash, Appiah, Osborn. 20m+ in those three alone in last two/three years) This funds next seasons push. - Use the cash to buy young players with big resale values, had they not gone up today they'd have made big profits on players like Mckenna and Samba that they'd brought in for fees. - Utilise the loan market, Zinckernagel, Garner, Spence and Davis all on loan and each one has changed their season. Had they lost today they'd of sold Johnson for 20m+ (They rejected 18m in January) with strong interest in Mckenna and Worral too, they could easily make 40m from those three alone if they wanted and have a huge transfer budget for 22/23. Hopefully Chansiri is learning, perhaps one day we'll see a Wednesday side be promoted with three academy products starting....I can dream...
  21. Nope, no more former players please. Wages too high anyway, next.
  22. Really don't understand the outcry from some over Hutchinson. He's missed 18 games this season, and made mistakes in the games he has played. Another one coming towards the end of his career, his fitness levels will only get worse. Very sensible from the club, now replace him with some young and hungry talent that can play all season and defend set pieces.
  23. Moore has to be given next season I'm afraid. If we can start next season in the same form we have finished this one we will go up automatically. I just hope he has some well thought out recruitment lined up. We need to strengthen our 3-5-2 formation but also, he really needs to work on his plan B + C approach to games that aren't going our way and recruit for those too...hopefully he also spends the summer working on his own approach to those games because at times his subs are baffling.
  24. Appreciate that, but with a proper thought out replacement in summer there's no reason why we can't succeed. Worst case scenario would be starting another season relying on Bannan and he goes and picks up an injury as he's getting old, my other concern is that I don't think the club invest properly in scouting. I don't trust the club to go out there and find a Scott Twine type that could contribute Barrys goals and assists. Basically we're just rubbish at everything aren't we.
