On the road with football’s new old boys’ network
SnowyOwl13 replied to Oliver's topic in General Football Chat
Chris Waddle is doing the rounds and he's sold out at Ponti's in Stocksbridge and then the social club at Bracken Moor. And I meant to get tickets to the latter but it sold out first! -

A brilliant piece that gets into why these events are popular with both the speakers and the audience. -
700 police officers for a match with no away fans. But the problem is with the Israelis of course.

I ctually had this in Romania when watching an FCSB match lst month. Just had to leave them on the ground, noticed there weren't any on the ground still when I left! -

The highlights of that Hallam Vs Stocksbridge game

Kivo, you were probably one of the first to raise concerns about Chansiri and tbh, I ignored them and thought you were daft. Mea culpa on that one. Hopefully now will be a chance for us all to unite but I hope those that drifted to non-league clubs do stay loyal and remember them too.

Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup

As Stocksbridge have an FA Trophy match away at Marine on that date, it won't be happening then. Game can be any date until the end of November. -

I'd suspect the match would be switched to Bracken Moor. -
Stocksbridge beat Hyde United in the FA Cup and will now travel to Marine in the next round.

I think we've suffered so much we just expect the worse at every turn now. -
SWFC IN ADMINISTRATION - CONFIRMED

Alex Crook has sealed it for me, he's reliable and I can't imagine him taking a punt on Sheffield Wednesday information. -
2-2 draw for Stocksbridge away at Hyde on Tuesday.

what are they going to do, not pay them?

We seem to have a trend where a promising youngster comes into the team, does far better than we'd expect and then gets injured. Now there's perfectly normal explanations like they're kids getting battered playing a physical game of football against experienced professionals, but that's a bit passé for Owlstalk. So I have a theory. I think the young players are having their injuries exaggerated to the outside world to put off potential buyers and avoid Chansiri cashing in on any asset that might have some value. I'm sure some of the vultures would swoop for Pierce Charles, Ernie Weaver and George Brown knowing they could get a bargain fee for him, so the coaching staff are doing what they can to stop that. Obviously, no evidence for this other than my own, demented mind.

Danny’s biggest issue at Rangers
SnowyOwl13 replied to beloved_aunt's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I went to Ibrox to watch a game once. I'm used to the scene at Hillsborough where if a player makes a mistake, a couple of fans will get to their feet to yell expletives. At Rangers, it felt like everyone did that. -
Lee Trundle was at this event and guy took the conditioning part seriously at least, he was ripped.

Stocksbridge are in good form now
-
They have admitted it. That's why they're saying for Maccabai fans not to go there.
-
This is why, but this is why there's an outrage. We now have a part of the country the police admit they can't handle. Considering anytime you call certain areas 'no-go areas', you have thousands calling you racist, now WMP is admitting they have to mandate a no go area.

If you can't host away fans safely, it should be in a neutral venue.

Boycotting games and mental health
SnowyOwl13 replied to Nannan's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I didn't realise how disillusioned I was with football until I went to non-league. But non-league isn't a cure for all, sometimes like a partner, you fall in love and end up moving on. -
Mike Bayly is a local lad as well, regularly photos at Stocksbridge.
