  1. Walked it from and too town plenty of times if I'm by myself and fancy a stroll or calling in at a few boozers off the beaten track.
  2. South Stand - lower part (the Leitch stand) bult in 1914, replacing the original Olive Grove stand which had been re-erected at Hillsborough in 1899. Grand Stand and rear facilities built in the mid 90s and new roof added. Technically not a rebuild but redeveloped beyond recognition. The Kop - banked up gradually since we moved to Hillsborough, the bank reaching its maximum height by 1954. Extended and covered in 1986. Renovated and seated in 1993. The North Stand - built in 1960/61, replacing the older North Stand which had been built c1900. Only renovations are adding the disabled area, widening the aisles and replacing wooden seats. The West Stand - built in 1966, replacing an older covered terrace from 1928, which itself replaced an even older, smaller terrace from c1900. The current West Stand was essentially built over the top of the 1928 terrace (with the roof and rear section removed) and yes, the facilities and back wall from that terrace are still what form the concourse for the West Lower today. This is easy to spot and distinguish from the rest of the "new" West Stand if you've ever been on the West Lower. The Front part of the 1928 terrace was retained to form the lower terracing of the West Stand, which was of course closed in 1989 and renovated and reopened in 1991 with the seats. The North West Corner - very simple, built in 1966 to join up the West and North Stands, replacing an older structure from 1919 which had done the same thing for the older North and Leppings Lane Ends. Renovated and seated in 1993. Mothballed and seats removed in 2021. So the last new stand which was 100% built from scratch, with no traces of its predecessor, was the North Stand in 1961, 64 years ago.
  3. As long as we don't leave Sheffield, would never live it down if a new ground was within Barnsley or Rotherham.
  4. The border goes through the back of the main stand. The car park and offices are in Cheshire, England, but the rest of the ground is in Flintshire, Wales.
  5. Postcodes have nothing to do with city and county boundaries
  6. No - Hillsborough is an area within the City of Sheffield. West Bridgford is a town within the Nottinghamshire borough of Rushcliffe. It's the same as Sheffield FC playing in Dronfield - which is a town within the Derbyshire district of North East Derbyshire.
  7. Forest play at the City Ground in the county and County play at Meadow Lane in the city.
  8. That's over 400 since yesterday. And nearly 4,000 in total. Four thousand of our fans still need our help to see the bigger picture. Or, they're selfish lost causes who don't give a fizz.
  9. Land some paratroopers overnight to capture the South Stand and Leppings Lane bridges.
  10. 3,072 remaining. Around 3.5K sold. Gonna guess at least 1K of that is people with no intention of going. W@nker$
  11. 3,616 remaining. About 3K sold.
  12. For me the best seats in the ground for leg room are the upper wing blocks on the Kop (W2 and U2). For whatever reason when they put the seats in they decided to use 3 rows of the old terracing instead of 2 in those blocks to make the new seating rows, so there is about an extra foot of legroom. I'd never have discovered that if I'd stayed in the same seat and not explored the ground. It's also a cracking view from up there.
  13. I love moving around the ground for different views, must have been in every block by now. Be bored stiff stuck in the same seat for years and years.
  14. Blocks EE and KK (end ones next to the Kop) and the ones reserved for complimentary tickets and stuff, so again its impossible to predict how full they will ever be. Block AA next to the West Stand is always closed until the last minute if it is needed, like block T on the North.
  15. It's the corporate block - the padded seats. Never publicly available for sale and often empty.
  16. He joined at a time where it was seemingly a dead cert we were going up. We were all in the mindset that we were destined to to be promoted, and the money spent on him was going to be just the start of everything else we had to look forward to as a Premier League club from that year onwards. Hell, I remember before the second leg of the play off semis against Hudds, all we were talking about was Wembley hotels and travel plans. Losing just didn't cross our minds as an eventuality. How could little Huddersfield take the place of massive Wednesday? Christ how stupid we were.
  17. 4,463 left as of this morning with blocks AA, EE and KK not on sale. Around 2K sold so far.
  18. I enjoy arguing with the Chansiri supporters far too much to want them all to stop.
  19. Stand on the South Stand bridge with banners and placards. Say nothing. Stare down everyone walking past with a ticket for the match. Let them shout abuse, push you out of the way, or try and justify their excuse for attending the match. They need to realise they are the problem.
  20. Can we get a regular sales count going? These first couple of days are vital because they show how many season ticket holders are still choosing to buy.
  21. They'll do absolutely nothing outside the safe confines of the West Upper and police escorts.
  22. If the circumstances haven't changed. Then neither has the cause. Not a penny more.
  23. Form human barriers on the concourses, physically stopping people from accessing the kiosks
  24. Lee Strafford offering cheap tickets to job seekers in the NWC and putting beer on the Kop were probably the two most fan-engaging things that any chairman has done for us in the last 25 years.
