Terribly sad news to hear. Don was my first Wednesday hero when I was a lad. I also had the great privilege to meet and share a couple of drinks with Don. He was an absolute gentleman - and wonderful fun. Condolences to the family. I’ll certainly be raising a glass to ‘The Don’ tonight. RIP. A true Wednesday legend.

Evening our Roscoe - hope you and yours had a good Christmas - fingers crossed we can get over in 2022 …. In the meantime: Come on The Wednesday …. big (1-0) win for the long suffering. Safe journey to the boys and girls making the trip. Hope the lads put a bit more effort in than the pomes down here masquerading as cricketers !

Our old man smoked a few ‘Parkies’ to get me this book when I was a kid. The book is a bit tatty now, but I don’t have the heart to throw it away. A great read - the stats at the back of the book don’t quite add up. But I love it and it’s got this great photo of ‘the Don’. One of my earliest hero’s. We finished 15th in the old Div 1 that year (at least according to the book !). Thanks Dad.

I was back 'ome in Stannington on holiday a couple of weeks ago. Weather was absolutely glorious. Pub meal at the Strines on a barmy summers evening; Classic. I'd forgotten just how good an English summer evening can be. Still light at 10pm. Other than England tops, I didn't see too many football shirts. Plenty of Real Sociedad shirts in San Sebastian which looked a little bit familiar;
