  1. Bloody fat fingers posted before I finished typing. fantastic article Joe that sums up what a lot of us are feeling
  2. Thought sky did a good job there when they could have easily skimmed over it with a 30 second piece. Anything that keeps it in the national media has got to be good
  3. I pre ordered this last year using my credit card so I’ll be contacting them to see if there’s any chance of a refund on the basis that the item is not as described. I’ll post on here how I get on
  4. I went to school with him so it’s now a bit surreal to imagine him being our chairman. Was always a massive wednesdayite though
  5. Just tipped over the £9k mark, great stuff everyone let’s keep the momentum going. Donated and joined the trust and just shared the link with all my family
  6. They moved to Nottingham to be nearer his wife’s family, he mentioned it on a podcast I watched last year some time
  7. One of things I notice with him is he seems to think he’s got to bust the net every time he shoots. That first chance last night was another example, great ball in, just needs side footing low and it’s a goal, he tries to absolutely smash it instead.
  8. Can’t keep not turning up for half a game and expect to be serious play off challengers. Plus still not addressed basic defensive issues where players just switch off, which has been an issue all season
  9. If you say that Leeds and them lot are going to get automatic spots, then if we did get into play off places we’ll likely need to beat Burnley and Sunderland - just don’t see us doing that.
  10. He can play both sides, so it could be they see him as a back up in case of further injury, just going on what one of my mates was saying last night, I don’t follow town that closely tbh
  11. Wes Burns picked up a season ending injury for Ipswich yesterday meaning they are less likely to let Harry Clarke go out on loan. I know we were mentioned as having an interest in Clarke but not sure if we made any serious enquiry for him
  12. We’re a mid table side who are currently overachieving slightly but last night showed we are nowhere near serious play off challengers. I know some people will point to how close we are to play offs in terms of points, but we would not beat any of the best 4 teams in the playoffs in my opinion. Could we sneak into the top 6? Possibly depending on a few factors but I just don’t see us beating the calibre of teams like Burnley, Sunderland who we would be likely to face assuming Leeds and them lot get the automatic spots. I was happy with mid table before season started and still realistically think that’s where we’ll end up. The frustrating thing now will be if as expected, Danny is not here next season to continue the progress and make a serious challenge for the top six.
  13. Bernard has been way below last seasons standards, doesn’t seem to get the same criticism as some other players though
  14. Thought Gassama was superb today
  15. Another game where we just haven’t turned up, pathetic really
  16. Start of the season I thought we might be looking at a mid table finish and after around 6 games I said we’ll probably finish anywhere between 12th-18th and I still feel the same. We are steadily improving which is great after last season, but still have the same 2 major issues. 1 - we give away too many soft goals. Mainly because we don’t seem to have the desire/ability (I’m not sure which) to fight for the second ball. 2 - we don’t convert enough of the chances we create. This is really highlighted in recent games where we are creating a lot of chances, but has been an issue all season (apart from the Plymouth game of course). Overall I’d have to say I’m happy with progress from last season but feel some frustration that if we could address the above issues there’s an opportunity this season to finish higher as I don’t think it’s a particularly strong division, apart from top 4.
  17. He does seem to be a confidence player, so maybe he’ll get one and then push on from there, really hope so. What disappoints me the most though is he doesn’t appear to be putting the effort in, compared to the player we saw last season. Maybe he’s following instructions in terms of his positioning and how / where to press - but you can still do that while busting a gut to get to the ball, which he just isn’t doing. Frustration is the main thing I feel with him because we saw last season how effective he can be. Here’s to a 98th winner in the derby from him
  18. We really are s*ite aren’t we
  19. Max Lowe - never a good sign
  20. I was going to say similar to this. I’m convinced players are having it drilled into them during training to maintain a certain shape and this is in their minds when we are attacking. It all seems so rigid to me, maybe they need to be given more licence to break into the area? I might be miles off but something isn’t working
  21. Somewhere between 12-18th place is realistic from what I’ve seen so far. Until we can stop giving away soft goals and start converting some of our chances we will struggle to finish much higher
  22. Not for me but as someone said it’s one of those that VAR would probably give. Same as the one by Bernard on Twine, he definitely contacts Twine’s foot but the theatrical dive afterwards probably influenced the ref to not give it.
