I was wondering about that, especially the TV money. Not sure if safeguards exist to stop owner taking the money out of the club.

Cadamarteri bid from three Premier League clubs
WUGGAMONKEY1 replied to YesWeCrann's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think this, if true, is probably the best deal we’d get for him regardless of the current situation. He can go for next to nothing in 12 months I think & I didn’t think we can tie him down to a long term contract at now given his age. Might be wrong on the last bit. -
Did he? I don’t remember him saying anything like that but I didn’t stay until the end. I heard him talk about how a previous manager had persuaded him to extend and put a gym in and then how Pulis (I think) wanted him to replace it with a canteen. What did Röhl ask for that Chansiri moaned about?
-
It doesn’t. It really doesn’t. But, even though my last response suggests otherwise, I’m not the moral police. But people should be consistent in their thought processes. People would still get hookie streams even if we had a great chairman.
-
It’s not morally wrong? When that money goes to serious & organised crime? Feeds drug dealing and drug addiction? And throws thousands of families into chaos? Fine, if you think not.
-
Cheers. It wasn’t a loaded question. But thanks for your response.
-
But I’m all genuineness, so you watch on an illegal stream? And it’s fine if you do and I’m not really expecting you to answer that in here. I’m not here to judge but we can’t call out DC for trying to protect the intellectual property of the club (i.e. hooky shirts) but then watch illegal streams that can often linked to serious and organised crime? People think I’m here to defend DC or wind folk up, I’m just pointing out inconsistencies with people blinkered views.

Doesn’t make you less of a fan. I was responding to a question about ‘support’. I’ve been a fan where I haven’t been able to justify the expense of going to games. I loved games on TV and doing what I could when I could. I understand people’s interpretations of support are different, and some may not agree there is a difference been a fan and a supporter (which is fine), but I like to support the club by attending games and cheering in the players. Just my preference. No slight on anyone that can’t or chooses not to. But don’t tell me I support Man City for some bizarre reason. Just because I don’t necessarily believe Symon had proved genuine proof of funds. Or that I don’t believe DC will speak to a guy that doesn’t have the funds to purchase the club. Unless it’s acceptable for other to challenge my credentials as a supporter? But it’s not acceptable for me to share an alternative view that other, quite rightly, may not agree with?

Enjoy the stream.
-
- OK. I’ml sure you do, in your own way…. In your armchair…. having a go at fans with different opinions. Support away
-
I’ll have spent more & been to more games than you. Enjoy your armchair and your lack of emotional intelligence. X

lol! You continue getting all angry whilst being able to influence absolutely zero. DelusionalDaveyboy66

So, am I to believe that a genuine investor has provide a third party with proof of funds (designated to purchase SWFC)? If I recall correctly he said that he had provided some podcaster with details of high wealth I investors that are interested in buying the club. That isn’t proof of funds.
-
- it’s baffling why you think why anyone would enter dialogue either a person that had zero ability to purchase the club.
-
100% this. No way is DC going to enter negotiations with a third party without funds.
-
I agree. I think he has some ability on the ball but he’s miles off defensively at the minute - especially in the air. 40 games in L1 would do him the world of good. He may even work, longer term, as someone who sits in front of the back four.
-
I don’t think Shipston will be here next year or I’m sure we’d have made him sign a contract before his loan. if Otegbayo is near the first team next year we are in a whole heap of trouble.
-
Exactly this. Charles was the least of our problems yesterday. Several players looked to be going through the motions. A settled defence and defenders that are actually good in the air would be my wish. Iorfa did things on the pitch yesterday that I’d be embarrassed to do in 5 aside.

Saturdays protest makes BBC Sport
WUGGAMONKEY1 replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
How can you be sure the protest worked? Is the barometer of success making the BBC website, if so, then it’s worked. Surely the sucesss measure is influencing Chansiri to sell up. I’m honestly not sure he’ll be bothered by it. Before the ‘fanboy’ comments happen, I protested, but I don’t get how anyone can say it worked - no tangible evidence it has. But, like I’ve said all along, a more moderate form of protest is likely to get greater traction than singing songs telling him he’s a c*nt or w@nker. -
Totally agree with the last two sentences, especially the last one. Nothing to do with Chansiri’s this one. Same rules that why we lost Holland and Yogane to Brentford. We either accept 7 figures from Man City now or lose him for less in the future. Plus, even if we accept City’s offer, the player doesn’t have to.
-
I understand what you are saying but taking 4 bodies (2 of ours, two of theirs) out of our box creates more space which the opposition can attack. If we were really good in the air at the back it might be a different story but we aren’t so I think it would cause us more problems.

Rholl, Gassama and Pierce Charles.
WUGGAMONKEY1 replied to adelphi1867's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The Star reported Gassama had signed a 3+1 contract. Pretty sure Charles signed an extended deal in the summer too that took him to 2027.
