Your nieces bloke is a CHEF at Hillsborough? Just on matchday? or is there a requirement to be there during the week? No disrespect, we've all been there, but he's a way down the corporate ladder. Why should we take that snippet of information as ITK?

I think he wasn't bad last night. Fair enough Bolton weren't the best, but before Bolton tampered with the format after losing a man, he was making some good moves. Hot night for all too. I'd like to see him again in the league with a more mobile midfield.

The new SWFC Mural is underway
Retired Owls Fan replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
That's exactly what I'm saying. It's not 'for balance' It doesn't matter if people like or dislike. The arts are subjective. "I don't like Taylor swift, or classical music"; "I think Tom Cruise films are contrived." All I was saying is the only way I can disagree with an opinion here is by getting involved in a pointless discussion, other than hitting the disagree button. -

I like them, but because there's no thumbs down about the negative comments, the confirmation bias looks like there's no support for the artwork. -

Do you think Rangers would be interested in our Chairman? -

Okay fair enough. Instead of generating extra publicity, lets just sit on here posting the same old stuff until the club dissapears. Anything new happening? -
Kids football team sponsor

There's a thousand odd teams to look at. Someone would have a kit if offered. -

How about we set up a Go Fund Me page to sponsor a youth team to get them a new kit. And get "Chansiri Out!" Printed on them? 1. It makes a statement 2. It'll get some PR The more money raised, the more clubs we can sponsor. In years to come, when we can all laugh about this experience, they might even be worth something.

STATEMENT FROM DEJPHON CHANSIRI
Retired Owls Fan replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
If Chansiri has no money, would the club be liquidated? He can't pay anyone anything. Would the consortium/any buyer potentially pay a lot less for it? -
In these days of desperationand feeling sorry for ourselves. I find myself getting wound up by all the goings on and lack of knowing anything. Will we have a manager, squad, pitch, stadium, club, etc. Then every few days whilst browsing tinterweb for any information of a hint of something positive, I keep seeing this photo and think, "at least I'm not this poor guy shaking hands with the Phuket Man" ... maybe he's smiling because he's just been to the toilet and didn't wash his hands.

George Hirst goal for Scotland
Retired Owls Fan replied to Daniele Giovanni's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Because that is what sport is all about. If the team who is expected to win, just wins every time, there'd be no point doing it, and it would be a crap watch. -

I thought he left wednesday 7 years ago after being offered a rubbish contract. Isn't it time to move on surely?- 31 replies

It doesn't matter about the pitch, because we don't have anyone to play on it, even if we had someone to mow it.

I agree, there is an air of something. However, I don't think it's anything good. More like: we have an idiot owner; some fans still think he's done a job. The truth is, he's run the club and himself to the brink. Neither has any money. Next to nobody in the world can afford us. I expect he's pudding his last £10 on lottery tickets so he can keep the pretence going for a bit longer. He's selling his tools to pay the electric bill (not literally). If we get out of this mess it will be with luck. I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. I wouldn't be surprised if we start next season without a pitch, a first team squad or any hope.

Ihiekwe to MK Dons
Retired Owls Fan replied to TheFavouriteOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Other than the wages, I don't know why a player (or manager) would go to MK Dons. I see them as a fake team, with a massive stadium and no fans. -
Just been reading this about Fulham. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx272pe5154o I think if wednesday had a country club style membership. With views over the park, a swimming pool, a choice of restaurants and bars, and of course a season ticket. I think I'd be happy to pay top price. Instead, I don't even get an eamil trying to persuade me to renew my ticket for the privilege of sitting in poor facilities. The outlay that new owners would have to spend is incredible. The only thing that goes our way (at the moment) is a large fan base, which is ever decreasing. I'm not renewing, although I hate it. I feel it could get a lot worse down there before/if it gets any better.

Any new owner needs to do this

What is now painfully obvious
Retired Owls Fan replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
This is irrelevant to the OP. What you've said is true, but what has that got to do with the price of oranges? Yes, Röhl has been crap since the Southampton thing, maybe he thought he could've kept Southampton up. Obviously they didn't think so or they'd have gambled on the compensation. But, Chansiri is still to blame for where the club is now. He is to blame for the current manager situation. He is to blame for the lack of investment in commercial operations, academy, players, stadium, infrastructure. He is responsible for not paying the bills/players. Stop defending him. He cannot be defended. He is so bad, someone with very low cognitive ability could construct a strong argument to get him out. -
Trust Joint Statement With Blackburn Rovers
Retired Owls Fan replied to SheffWed's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Nope. Starmer is present for a fixed term. Chansiri's position can be forced by governance. We just need a collective agreement. -
Trust Joint Statement With Blackburn Rovers

If we get more trusts together, of more poorly run dictatorial club ownership we can have this talked about. https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/sign-a-petition/ -
How do we 'turn the screw' effectively?
Retired Owls Fan replied to super wednesday's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
So, after some thought, I've decided I'm not going to renew my family season tickets. I'm not going to buy any more tat from the store. And, I'm happy to build a basic website to start the movement. Sell tshirts whatever. As we gain momentum, more people will listen. I think this actually needs mentioning in parliament.
