  1. He doesn't sound very bright to me. There's a low bar to get a gig as a pundit nowadays
  2. Showed some bottle there, a really positive sign
  3. And even that was only an equaliser
  4. Not really, conspiracy theorist is a derogatory term intended to shut someone out of a conversation by belittling them
  5. Steady on, you'll be getting called a conspiracy theorist if you say things like that
  6. I think just masochist would cover it
  7. Bannan's clear reluctance to leave (even if he eventually has to bite the bullet and go) just elevates his legend status for me
  8. At least he TOOK that penalty
  9. In the early 80s I worked on the sports desk at the Derby Evening Telegraph, who produced their own version. If you were reporting (I covered Notts County) you had a strict schedule for getting your specified number of words in. Running the office was brilliant: lots of banter with the copytakers (all women at that time) then the tension building as the full times approached and the tightest deadlines imaginable... stressful but great fun and a sense of achievement as you got the thing finished with seconds to spare - which somehow we always did!
  10. The light at the end of the tunnel is the light of an oncoming train (Nigel Blackwell)
  11. Twin Peaks, the return (absolute masterpiece) Twin Peaks (original) Phoenix Nights Fargo (1st series) League of Gentlemen
  12. And asparagus is delicious
  13. I'm not rushing to judgement, he's a young lad whose season has been completely disrupted by injury. Let's give him a chance next year
  14. I don't think he's lazy, he's just so short of confidence that he's terrified of the ball coming to him and spends his time jogging into spaces where the ball won't go
