  1. Don’t forget Chumpsters role in this defeat
  2. Throwing objects onto the field, yep, that will help us sell the club…fool
  3. Actually Hanley was an 11th hour change when Souter pulled up with an injury. Also loosing Doak as he key outlet after 10mins and putting 2 up front in 60mins, some credit has to be given to Clarke for reacting to those changes. They say the hardest thing in football is not passing but scoring goals and there was 3 world class goals scored last night
  4. Er scoring more goals than the other teams when they played each other.
  5. Wouldn’t mind dragging this lot down with us. Dirty barstewards
  6. Scored a hat trick forScotland in a 4-1 victory vs Lithuania. Still gutted that we were forced to let him go by the mismanagement of the Chumpster. No doubt iv he keeps banging them in he will change allegiance to England at senior level to that I can be doubly gutted
  7. Started off with pints and ended up with what was described as a totally toxic atmosphere between him and the Newcastle fan base. Didn’t he end up suing the club? My concern is that he is a divisive character and to be frank we have had enough of divisive characters for some time. BTW I’d be wary of millionaires being photographed supping pints with the ‘common man’ that that goes for wine drinking city dealer politicians who dress up to look like a farmer.
  8. Don’t believe there is an issue with Ashley’s business acumen, nose for a bargain and turning a profit, though some of his work practices might not be the ideal. It would be his engagement with the fans, his communication skills and ego that would concern me. He strikes me as very much a my way to the highway type of guy, viewing supporters as consumers rather than the dependable foundation of the club
  9. I indicated £20 to £30m as initial investment and the;’continue to develop’ as we moved up the leagues. How much to you think and new owner would need to spend as we consolidate and get out of League 1. £50m? £75m? £100m ?
  10. I did say an initial £20-£30M and ‘then continue to develop’ as we moved up the leagues. Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth were used as examples of clubs than have planned and executed their progress without getting into debt. Are you expecting someone to come in and spend £50 to £100m on ground and facilities while we are trying to consolidate and get out of league 1?
  11. Depends what you deem to be ‘massive’. I would think £20M to £30M would make a significant improvement to the ground and training facilities and you then continue to develop as you progress thru the leagues. Point is people are dreaming about billionaires but just chucking money at it without a solid plan based around P&S and strategic football and development plan is not going to work, I’m thinking Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth here
  12. If they pay 25p in the £1 to the creditors to avoid a 15 point deduction in League 1 then I’d expect it more like £25M to £30M. I think it only goes above that if we get into an bidding auction. Perhaps Derby had a larger liability to creditors?
  13. Don’t they already have family investments in Arsenal.? If true then would we expect them to disinvest in Arsenal if we ever got to the Premier League?
  14. No matter how much money any potential owner has they will still be governed by EFL P&S rules i.e. not loosing more than £39M on players and staff over 3 seasons. I think it’s 50% of turnover. What a wealthy owner can do is invest in infrastructure, ground, training facilities, etc but we are still going to need someone or a group who can build a footballing plan and marry that to maximising revenue from gate receipts, merchandising, sponsorship and, importantly, the buying and selling of players for profit and investment
  15. Ashley will only buy the club if he can get it at a rock bottom price. Remember one of the administrators jobs is to get at much return for the creditors (unfortunately including he who shall not be named) as possible. Ashley will want that to be as low as possible but with the number of declared interested parties and a potential auction at the end of the process it’s unlikely that the deal will hit a rock bottom price and Ashley will not want to pay more than a few pennies in the pound to the creditors
  16. Surely p i sse d as in p i ss ed off is not an expletive
  17. I love the way we are weeing some opposition fans off who think we are just going to turn up and roll over. Probably gets into the heads of some opposition players too. Whist we lack (lost) a lot of our creativity and quality the players with a few exceptions are giving the opposition a competitive game.
  18. Yes we lack quality but these lads are playing for the shirt and that was a good hard fought point. Special call out for Hogarth and big Dom and of course and great travelling support. Up the Owls
  19. who would have taken that chance better Ugbo or
  20. Ceremonial burning of the elephants for half time entertainment. Anyone ?
  21. I’d buy a ticket to watch that online. Optimise revenue
  22. Gets those pies and pints down your thrapple
  23. If only the Trust had a bunch of knights to do their bidding
