Don’t believe there is an issue with Ashley’s business acumen, nose for a bargain and turning a profit, though some of his work practices might not be the ideal. It would be his engagement with the fans, his communication skills and ego that would concern me. He strikes me as very much a my way to the highway type of guy, viewing supporters as consumers rather than the dependable foundation of the club

I indicated £20 to £30m as initial investment and the;’continue to develop’ as we moved up the leagues. How much to you think and new owner would need to spend as we consolidate and get out of League 1. £50m? £75m? £100m ?

I did say an initial £20-£30M and ‘then continue to develop’ as we moved up the leagues. Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth were used as examples of clubs than have planned and executed their progress without getting into debt. Are you expecting someone to come in and spend £50 to £100m on ground and facilities while we are trying to consolidate and get out of league 1?

Depends what you deem to be ‘massive’. I would think £20M to £30M would make a significant improvement to the ground and training facilities and you then continue to develop as you progress thru the leagues. Point is people are dreaming about billionaires but just chucking money at it without a solid plan based around P&S and strategic football and development plan is not going to work, I’m thinking Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth here

If they pay 25p in the £1 to the creditors to avoid a 15 point deduction in League 1 then I’d expect it more like £25M to £30M. I think it only goes above that if we get into an bidding auction. Perhaps Derby had a larger liability to creditors?

Don’t they already have family investments in Arsenal.? If true then would we expect them to disinvest in Arsenal if we ever got to the Premier League?
