  1. Thanks for everyone’s contribution to this thread. I think it further highlights that most of us don’t want this stuff at football ( or anywhere for that matter) but it’s great to see some much support for combatting racism at football. Think the saddest thing was reading about another supporter who felt they couldn’t take their kids to a match because of what they’d experienced. If that doesn’t bring home the seriousness of this I don’t know what will. I would encourage anyone and everyone to report this stuff. The whole thing was dealt with so well, the silent majority are with you. @daleblue I apologise if you felt what I’d said was divisive in anyway that was certainly not my intention. My intention was to both highlight to my friend about how going to a match doesn’t mean you have to hear horrendous abuse . I would also invite you to consider why talking about racism felt divisive. Not something you need to share with me or anyone on this forum but just a thought. @Devonstrix I also hope they decide to come back to football. It’s not just been this incident they unfortunately also experienced some abuse last season for taking part in the yellow leaflet campaign against Chansiri. We both spend far too much money on football and if it stops being enjoyable even if the minority cause it’s just sad.
  2. Thanks for the responses! The whole thing ruined what up until then had been one of the best away days (Result apart) Togetherness in the stand, united in opposition to what has been happening off the pitch. Superb atmosphere. Really felt the "We are all Wednesday" spirit. As it stands the person who I go to games with has decided that they don't want to go anymore because of this incident. This might mellow with time as we have had some cracking times following this club, but it just shows how one or two can ruin it. I will show them this thread and hopefully it will help remind them that most Wednesday fans don't want to hear or be associated with this kind of rubbish.
  3. Yesterday, I unfortunately heard one of our own fans shout a racial slur towards Leicester supporters. It was reported and dealt with in a really professional manner. I wanted to start this thread for people to share their own experiences of reporting racist incidents at the football and encourage others to do so. Thankfully in my experience it’s not something you hear often, but over the years there have been a couple of times I've had to tell people to pack it in. It’s always an intimidating, even frightening thing to do, so I completely understand why some might be hesitant. But it is so important. I’m also keen to hear what others think we, as a fan group, could do to show clearly that Wednesday is an anti-racist club and to make sure we don’t attract those whose views we want no part of.
