Numerous signed shirts from the 90’s from parties at Hillsborough. Think I had one from Carlton Palmer - He gave us a impromptu tour of the stadium when I turned up for an academy thing and my mum took me to the wrong place (players entrance probably) Got a nice bazza signed shirt from last season but unfortunately I’m a few sizes larger than the wee man.

If the black & gold odds placed in lines it’ll cover it and look like the shirt, not just covering the white seats

How Many Tickets Left v Stoke?

Hopefully any potential owners understand our low numbers protest crowds are larger than most clubs dream high gate crowds. The fan base really is the No1 asset! See you in the park, M&S picky bits is it? -

Dunno - Wouldn't be that fashionable to buy legit merch, thought they’re all wearing DH Gate on the catwalk these days -
No1 objective has to be Chansiri out. If this means a takeover without Hillsborough, I’d take it. Have great memories of going to games as a kid in the 90’s, but it’s not always been the home of SWFC. New grounds do help the like of Leicester stride miles ahead in terms of facilities, they wouldn’t have the same freedom and opportunity if they’d stayed at Filbert Street. My biggest concern is that if/when we host another World Cup, I think Hillsborough would be in with a venue shout due to the 1966 nostalgia.

1 2 the regulator's coming for you....
standard issue replied to bigrbuk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
IF (and for clarity, the whole suggestion in hypothetical) the ground is deemed unsafe to the end that it poses a H&S risk to the surrounding community, this would not be favouring Wednesday per se, it would be in interest of the immadiate community (granted, the immediate community are likeley Wednesdayites!) It would be (within the hypothetical suggestion) a "paper" excercise, assuming the new owner woould like full ownership of the ground, thus, coucil aquire on H&S grounds, new owner pays council = Money comes from new & ideally wealthy owner. As above all hypothetical & I feel it's more likely if he doesn't sell the lot, he'll lose the ground along with the club for not servicing the loan (if this is indeed a fact). -

Could the council issue a compulsory purchase? On the grounds of either being a property/venue of siginifact cultural interest to the city OR portions being unsafe (North Stand) and the requirement of remedial work. Then sell for a fair market value to a buyer who has the finances to undertake remedial work (New owner)? Just thoughts. -
Agree with the above post - the one thing I fear losing more than anything is our ground. I’ve sat in all 4 sides at Hillsborough and travelled to many stadia away, this maybe a personal preference or just blue tinted specs, but the essence that is the traditional stadium is lost in the modern compact “big enough” bowls that are built today.
-
Can’t really disagree with the sentiment of all of you - I do think we’re all still wearing blue tinted specs. buy the club for a quid and the ROI is phenomenally higher than paying the Daftone price (or even a much lower percentage of) right now. I honestly think he’s run us to a point where the investment required is so significant, we’re only worth buying out of admin. every club in the champ can get to the EPL (technically) so what makes us special. we have a huuuuuuuge fan base, this is great, for who? Us or the buyer? And to what end does it provide monetary value to a potential buyer? UTO

I think our club was a very different business prospect Christmas 2024 and end of last season Vs now. the current business prosect that Daftone has created screams “WAIT UNTILL THIS CLUBS HITS ROCK BOTTOM” In hindsight, he should have put up for Sale the decent prospect as we neared the end of last season.
-
Yeah I think I agree more with this. the heart definitely wants Champions League ASAP but separating the business mind from the fan mind, would Incase if we hit L1? Certainly not, we’d be cheaper and the ROI would be greater. Honestly think fans need to look at the buyer perspective when reading all the current ups and downs about our beloved club atm. All parties will not share the same emotional investment. ITO

One thing that’s been on my mind since we entered this whole fiasco with chancer et al.   If I was a business person, would I be looking to buy Wednesday right now in it’s current state from the current owner? My opinion is honestly - NO The way the club is being traded by chancer, do I think the value is likely to rise or fall? = FALL! Why would I pile my millions in now, when the club is likely worth way less as time plods on? If I’m honest, I would not want a chairperson who would entertain the ridiculous expectations of Daftone, I want our future chairperson to be far more astute and business capable, which in this current climate, whole-heartedly means taking Chanser (and us) to the cleaners and getting the old lady (SWFC) for a song. I’m interested to hear how others feel in this given the dire situation we find ourselves in. UTO

Our Impending Points Deduction
standard issue replied to Essix Blue's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think this is an interesting one to watch, points panalties punish the fanbase & community, not the owner (if he's off) Given changes in governance coming in & the questions put to the EFL by the trust in ralation to their own competance, I'm very interested to see how they treat this if/when we get taken over. -
Agree with this, been winding me up also! I recall from the spendameggon days, many we're very aware and concerned this was an incredibly high risk, boom or bust strategy - ultimately we've bust! Despite all the understandable joy & feelgood around the fanbase when we were spending on (what at the time) seemed like decent signings - There was a continual undertone of "he needs to put a competant footballing management structure in place or we'll fall apart" What we've seen is a result of poor organisational management & high risk spending - All of which the joyous fanbase were aware of and rightfully uncomfortable with.

Your employer can give you a monthly payment toward your leccy & internet, but most don’t. I’m self employed WFH, so currently 100% wearing out the F5 key. going to have to work double shifts before invoicing at month end.

While I agree with the sentiment, if the EFL were to publicly announce the embargoes & points deductions are gone, this effectively tells Chansiri he’s selling a club without the deductions or embargo’s, ergo, the club is worth more again, therefore he’d dig in and not rush to sell us. Unfortunately we need the discomfort of the embargoes to put the pressure on chanser. It does feel like we’re entering the end game now the EFL are ramping up - What the end is…

Our first Championship goal , Who and When??

I’m going Chansiri with a 30yard screamer in front of an empty away end on 38seconds. Hand cupping ears celebration -
Do we know the stadium is included in the sale as of yet? next weeks plot twist?
-
Thought - if we go the closed doors route (not sure how this all works from an EFL and stadium capacity stand point) would the team just play at Middlewood Road? Would be cheaper for Chancer than operating Hillsborough
