  1. It's not Hillsborough is it. Trying to pump the fans but it's not working. They're reading e books on their phones by the looks of it.
  2. Trying to find Darryl Lachman on that list, but struggling.
  3. So one thing that's puzzling me is that our most valuable player in the whole team is Max Lowe, who plays left back. We signed one player to strengthen, who also plays left back.
  4. Doesn't matter who we get - our under 21s will dispatch them.
  5. This is just reinforcing my decision to support Real Sociedad until Chansiri's gone.
  6. Just heard Chansiri's injured too. Hurt his fingers so can't pay the wages this month. It goes from bad to worse.
  7. I expected a drubbing tonight when I saw the coach the team travelled up in. Ugbo was driving as he's the only one not on a provisional licence.
  8. A lot to be positive about today. Following the championship openers, we are comfortably in 16th, only behind Leicester alphabetically and the pigs are rooted to the foot of the table. I personally couldn't have asked for a better start to the season in the circumstances and would take ending the season at this point.
  9. I can't disagree with the original post. All those who left had quite high maintenance match day riders, which to me seemed totally unnecessary. Take Josh Windass for example. His demands for the changing room included eight tall, leafy plants, vanilla candles (specifically Joe Malone brand), two vases of white roses, and the drapery of every perimeter with black drapes. The entry door should also open directly into a living space, not the changing room, and the temperature should be kept around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This coupled with Smith demanding all the brown M&Ms were removed from the bowl or he wouldn't get on the coach and Danny insisting on a new toilet seat every time he went to the loo (which is probably where all our money went) became too much for Dejphon week in, week out and was possibly why the man cracked. Without these prima dona requests we can really knuckle down this season and hopefully make a push for the play offs. Let's ******** this league.
  10. When Bolton players did this it forced them into administration and the EFL backed the players. Might be the medicine we need as a club.
  11. He's out meeting Tilman.
  12. At least Chansiri may see what happens if you don't negotiate. You get nothing. Surely even he can see that's what's going to happen with the whole club it he doesn't bring the asking price down to something realistic. If Danny helped him see this it could be Danny's greatest contribution to the club.
  13. 100% London branch. Same brick pattern and lights.
  14. We have spent a quarter of a century preparing to get back to the premier league each summer. It's never worked. If a plan doesn't work, you have to be brave enough to change things. Chansiri is brave. You lot are cowards. Leicester are in for a surprise:
  15. It's not to replace Wednesday, it's escapism from next season. Genuinely going to give it a go as my six year old doesn't understand why all his favourite players have left. Will just tell him it's Spanish Wednesday and hopefully I can get him to move on and not ruin his life.
  16. I briefly mentioned tongue in cheek that I was switching my support to Real Sociedad in another thread and got laughing emojis... but hear me out. For one season, whilst we are the whipping boys of England, it makes perfect sense to follow a team which plays at a good level. The strip is the same, so I'm going to tell myself it's the Wednesday B team when they play Real Madrid etc. It's not the UK, so isn't technically cheating. I thought of France, but not the most inspiring league and also Germany, but the risk is Danny could come in as a manager which could be too soon for my emotional wellbeing. The northern coast of Spain therefore makes a lot of sense as it's the next closest big league with a suitable replacement club. Not only does their strip look the same as ours, but their stadium is the same size , albeit possibly the most beautiful stadium in world football - see attached image. Crucially it's not condemned for safety reasons. Squad is valued at £266m compared to us at £15m, so the standard of football is potentially going to be better. The way it is run as a club also sounds like heaven compared to what we have: Real Sociedad is one of the few Spanish football clubs that still operates under a member-owned model, similar to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Osasuna. Here's how it works: Socios: The Fan-Members - Socios are registered club members who pay annual fees. - They have voting rights on key decisions, including electing the club president and board. - This structure ensures that the club is run by its supporters, not private investors or corporations. Legal Structure - Real Sociedad is a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva (S.A.D.), a public limited sports company. - Despite this, it has retained a democratic governance model, where socios influence the direction of the club. Elections and Accountability - Club presidents are elected by socios, typically every four years. - Candidates campaign on promises—like youth development, financial stability, or stadium upgrades. - This creates a direct accountability loop between leadership and the fan base. Community and Culture - The club emphasizes Basque identity and values, which resonate deeply with its local supporters. - Fans are involved not just in governance but also in supporters' groups (peñas), which organize travel, events, and community outreach. Future Innovations - Real Sociedad has teased new initiatives that may allow fans to own symbolic parts of the club—like shares in the stadium or pitch—through digital platforms or fan tokens. It’s a model that prioritizes tradition, transparency, and community over profit. I can also fly there for £80, which as I live in Reading isn't much more than a train to Sheffield. Join me, escape reality, and imagine it's Wednesday competing in La Liga for a year or however much longer it takes for Chansiri to go.
  17. I asked AI what other teams I might like who play in blue and white. It's suggested Real Sociedad, so I'm off. Adiós and good luck.
  18. Is anyone going to get a Tilman Fertitta cover up tattoo over their Chansiri one, or is it still too early for that?
  19. Let's not make things worse than they are. I'm on the edge already.
  20. He would have done, but he's in Scotland now so that's his career over. Such a waste of talent.
  21. Unlikely as he was a great player but there's no guarantee that he wouldn't have gone bad. When Celtic plundered us for Shaw and Uroghide they didn't exactly do well. I can't remember anyone being upset about Vardy but looks what happened there. It's a funny game, sometimes it's the ones that you don't expect who push on. It's Olaf's time to shine now.
  22. Can we stop bumping this to the top. It's the equivalent of me visiting a page to see pictures of Scarlet Johansson, but some nob keeps posing pictures of Rose West.
