  1. We played in this at Wolves on the opening day of the season when Pressman got himself sent off after about 13 seconds.
  2. Surely there is a difference here though? We are actively engaged in an effort to force the chairman out by starving him of funding and support which was not the case in the seventies. Those still going back then had every right to consider themselves hardcore and loyal. Right now, large numbers are making sacrifices to do their bit to rescue the club whilst others are not just refusing to join in, but continue to actually enable and fund the enemy that 95% of us want rid of.
  3. Players are protected creditors. Even if the club suffered the worst fate imaginable, they would still be entitled legally to claim every penny of their full contract. So without knowing the advice of the PFA or the specifics of their contracts, I think your overall reasoning is perfectly sound. It's unrealistic and unreasonable to call on the squad to do anything that would jeopardise that. And when you look at how many people in the stands can't be bothered to inconvenience themselves far less (joining in protest chants, turning their back for sixty seconds, managing a whole two hours without buying food and drink in the stadium, not attending cup games) all the more untenable.
  4. And let us not forget that that 'entertainment' at Hillsborough currently stands at 2 goals for and 16 against in all competitions.
  5. Chant for the next game... "One David Kogan, there's only one David Kogan." Oh no, wait. It will just be the boycott breakers, and chanting isn't their thing is it? A bit of tutting, buy a few pies and pints, then leave twenty minutes before the end to beat the traffic.
  6. Some clubs would put this kind of landmark on their honours board. This record is going to take some beating. Well played Dejphon. What a guy.
  7. I remember many years ago Danny Baker telling a story of some Millwall fans barricading themselves in the public address box and spending several minutes telling the stadium how they felt about how the club was being run at the time. Would be tremendous if someone did that at Hillsborough if they had some prepared statements about the various disgraces of the Chansiri/Amadeu regime.
  8. Players are protected creditors. Even if the club were to go into administration, they would still be due every penny under the terms of their contract.
  9. Quite apart from all the other reasons not to attend, those going to every home Championship game so far have seen 15 goals. We've scored 1 of them (unless you count Max Lowe hoofing it into his own net yesterday).
  10. People these days. Want everything now, with the absolute minimum of effort and if they don't get it, just give up. Chansiri is in a hole of tens of millions of pounds. He's hardly likely to cave in at the first hint of dissent is he? All the indications to me are that the only thing worse for him than being the figurehead of the club is not being. Between a rock and a hard place.
  11. Is it still 'Mantra' by Bring Me the Horizon? Good song if you ask me, although I've no idea why it might be considered relevant to Wednesday. Nearest thing to a reason I've ever heard is that the lead singer (born in Kent and lived a few years in Australia) was brought up in Stocksbridge and is involved in some club/bar ventures in the city.
  12. That would be ideal. But unfortunately, large sections of our supporters are regularly demonstrating that they are not prepared to make the smallest sacrifice to their routine. Even turning their back on the game for sixty seconds was too much for them. Going two hours without food and drink is evidently beyond their willpower. So calling for a total boycott and still having, say, 15,000 in the stadium would be a big setback to the cause. It's difficult to imagine what some of these people might need to appreciate the gravity of the situation and be prepared to actually do anything.
  13. It's been a theme of the commentators a number of times this season. They just seem not to be able to connect what's going on in the background with what is happening on the pitch. Or maybe they're just not all that engaged or bothered? Yes, we are nominally a Championship club, but in all meaningful ways that status can be measured, we are well below the standards of our opponents. The only remarkable things is that there is one club still below us. And how hilarious it should be last season's playoff runners-up. Our squad is about 14 players down on what it was last season, we barely had enough senior players left to form a starting eleven, and even some of those really ought to have been moved on or reserves at best. And that was before considering the injuries (Bernard, Charles, Chalobah etc). The spirit of the whole club is being dragged down as this demise slowly trudges from one setback to the next. And some are still continuing to pay to facilitate this.
  14. That's now 1 goal for and 14 against at Hillsborough in the league so far this season. Wonder if Chansiri even knows there's a game on? Scumbag.
