  1. Are they still available? I had DMed you, thanks
  2. Hirst gave Terry Butcher a difficult evening.
  3. He's a disaster, useless. Makes bad decision after bad decision. Refuses to appoint good people. Doesn't learn from mistakes, compounds them. Breaks the rules. Eight years not just wasted but where we have massively regressed relative to competition. This is our club and it is soul-destroying to see what he is doing. This club will always be ours; he is merely a custodian, unfortunately the worst we could have. To answer the OP's question, there is nothing he can do to win me around. I just pray he will be gone sooner rather than later.
  4. Didn't realise that - yet another thing we got bang on right last night.
  5. Last night he got it absolutely right. In every aspect. Team selection and formation - James, Paterson, Palmer in the middle, Gregory, Smith and Windass all playing - bang on. Tactics - perfect, Peterborough had no answer.
  6. Great analysis. They started time wasting from minute one so got what they deserved. Not that they were actually very good at it. No yellow cards - they could have pushed it a bit more! They had zero ambition, just wanted to get through the game. Karma.
  7. Make it hostile, get at em, get one of them sent off. That's my team talk.
  8. Our defeat at Plymouth still rankles. Credit to them, they brought on fresh legs in the last 20 minutes and upped their energy levels. Moore took off our two best players with the score at 1-1 iirc.
  9. That is what I thought. Bizarre. Nice in a way that they care though. Good luck to them. And let's get out of this division now.
  10. Let's be clear, It wasn't the draw at Ipswich that caused it - much as it pained to have been 2-0 up. We'd all have taken a draw there before the game. Nor was it the loss at Barnsley which was a bit of a freak game because at 2-2 we were the only side who looked like winning. We were still in good shape after dropping points to Bolton and Barnsley. What caused it was the five results against Forest Green, Cheltenham, Lincoln, Oxford and Burton. 3 points out of a possible 15. All matches we should have been able to win. End of.
  11. Never realised the hate for us that Brighton have. https://www.northstandchat.com/threads/sheffield-wednesday.400224
  12. Common sense as usual Markowski. The question is whether we can rest and reset. Too many players underperforming. Leadership required.
  13. A full Hillsborough is a wonderful thing. It was great for the Plymouth game. For those occasions (too rare unfortunately) I wouldn't want to relocate. I dream it could be full every other week. And when I read terrible journalism like Ladyman's, my strong instinct, like many on here, is to react against it, defending my club and the stadium because I love them both. But, objectively, our stadium is old-fashioned, views are blocked by pillars, the concourses aren't big enough, the toilet and catering facilities are poor, some of the seats are cramped, the north-west corner is redundant, blocks of seats can't be sold for safety reasons. I last sat in the West Stand for the 2012 Wycombe game and it affords a great view of three wonderful stands, but the infrastructure and facilities are awful. That stand should have been removed in the years immediately following the disaster. Its continued existence means we will constantly have to endure the sort of publicity we got when Newcastle came to town. Yes, it's unjust criticism in many ways, it feels like we're being picked on unfairly, but as long as the West Stand is there, it will continue to happen. People will say, how can we afford to replace it? Wouldn't we rather spend what money we have on the team? The plan seems to be that we can redevelop the ground, in particular the West Stand, when we get back in the Premier League. But when will that be? It's 23 years and counting. We could conceivably be outside the Premier League for another 20 years and this thing will still be around our neck, never going away. Of course the disaster and the innocent lives that were lost must never be forgotten, but unfortunately our club, by not understanding and acknowledging the massive symbolism of the still-standing Leppings Lane stand, tunnel and all, and by not having dealt with it, has made us an easy target, and it's holding us back. I don't know how, or how to afford it, but it's time for the club to make some sort of statement of intent, rather than continuing to pretend there isn't an issue.
  14. Slept on it and still mad this morning. By taking off Bannan and Windass it screamed "we're not up for winning this, over to you". And they were ready to take advantage, they wanted to win. Moore outmanaged again, it's happened so often in the bigger games.
  15. You don’t rest them in a game vs top of the table with 15 mins to go. Ridiculous thinking
  16. Awful awful substitutions. Awful
  17. Mendez-Laing's mistake, then Storey let them cross. Palmer might have tracked better but the guy did great to get across to the near post. Why do people love to slate Palmer?
  18. Agree with this. On Friday he was isolated and couldn't hold the ball up. He's not physical enough for that role. We will have more possession this evening and be able to play to Berahino's strengths. With Windass coming off the bench, that's the best option.
  19. We are also getting much better at shithousery.
  20. To be fair to MK Dons, I didn't think they were particularly time wasting.
  21. I watched it on my IPhone and didn't have a problem distinguishing between the teams. Just disappointed we lost 3-0.
  22. I didn't look at the posts but wrote mine down: Bolder Rodrigues Clements Pickering Smith Craig Hornsby Curran Henderson Wylde Prendergast/Joicey
  23. Don't care about them or what they think
  24. Good news. We must be paying good wages - Windass happy to extend and other Championship players happy to come? I get the appeal of the manager and the size of the club, but the availability of good wages is a big part of attracting good players. How does that sit with FFP - are we gambling again? Interested in others' views on this. I think we are loosening the purse strings more than I thought we could. Granted a number of big earners off the payroll but Bannan clearly earning a lot, plus 12 incomings so far. I guess the difference is most incoming players are hungry and will have a resale value?
  25. Hunt was decent when he was with us before. Better than Palmer going forward but not great defensively. I don't think he will have improved since he left us, hence being released by Bristol City. What strikes me about this thread is a) the failure to acknowledge we are now a Div 1 team, b) the Owlstalk hate of Palmer who is not a world beater but will be a decent player at Div 1 level. I am not bothered either way about Hunt, I am going to trust Moore on this one. Hunt doesn't really fit the profile of player we are looking to sign though does he?
