  1. Spurs did redevelop. They did not move from their old site. Sure they expanded, used CPO, bought adjoining land and worked with the local authorities. But it is fundamentally the same site (you can even stand on the old centre spot)
  2. Cohen's sports-related activities have primarily focused on baseball and golf. As already covered in many comments, he purchased the New York Mets in 2020 and has invested heavily in the team. Additionally, he acquired a team in TGL, a tech-infused golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy (was due to begin play in January 2024 .). His team (New York Golf Club) includes Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, and investors Derek Jeter and CC Sabathia, (both former NYY Baseball), John McEnroe, Michael Strahan and Eli Manning (NFL), and Jimmy Fallon. Incidentally the NYGC club finished second in the TGL this season. Regarding soccer, Cohen has been involved in negotiations related to the development of a soccer stadium for New York City FC near Citi Field. However, his involvement appears to be driven by broader development interests, including a proposed $8 billion Metropolitan Park project that encompasses a casino, hotel, and other amenities . There is no indication that his participation in these discussions stems from a personal passion for football. In summary, while Steve Cohen is actively engaged in various sports ventures, there is no current information to suggest that he has a personal interest in football. If anyone is interested in the "insider trading issue" then here is a you tube video that covers it in some depth - but it is almost an hour long and three years old - I will post a separate link.
  3. Don't think it is an EFL regulation - they do insist on an annual summary of the work done to be sent to the league... and do encourage "open communication lines, transparency and mutual understanding" - minutes are not mandatory. If you are going to publish agreed minutes - then it is pretty much standard practise that the content would not be shared outside of the meeting, certainly not prior to the publication.
  4. Nope - was a Saturday 3pm Never seen a TV clip of the goals - anyone know if it exists
  5. Only time I can ever remember people sitting down to watch a game on the (old) Kop. It was a scorcher. I’d remembered it as 3-0.
  6. This site is usually pretty accurate - but not today. I have a Sportsnet Worldwide subscription and the game is not being shown.
  7. Question. Name a country beginning with the letter "A" Mark Lawrenson : Answer: "Alaska"
  8. Excellent flag spotted in Gelsenkirchen last weekend.
  9. It will be warming up by 7 on a Friday but not too crowded - 35/40 min walk to the Kop.
  10. Rearranged game because of the '83 cup run. To cap it ....The Wolves goal was a dodgy penalty, and Mick Lyons was sent off late in the game.
  11. Never left before the final whistle !
  12. The Lanch. The Elastic Inn and Sir Colin Campbell pubs. Jim Holton serving me in the Rising Sun the night Cover won the cup in '87. That, much postponed, Quarter Final. And sitting in their main stand with Chris, my Coventry supporting mate, for a Wednesday game. Terrible game, until we scored, I went up (regardless of being with the home fans).....then the flag went up .... He loved it ...still does !
  13. Yes John Brewin said it, but not as a rumour, he said it in the context of who could a desperate Man Utd turn to if they sacked Ten Hag ...he was not seriously suggesting Röhl, it was supposed to be funny !!
  14. Close … it’s the p1ssed English spilling their beer !
  15. At the Rugby this weekend in Marseille walked through this tribute (Gate 5/6 Entrance N/M). The old stadium was magnificent - the new one, while retaining the same character, is even better. We can but dream !
  16. Block 212 ...if I can get through the passport chaos at Heathrow !
  17. And don't be fooled by the "I'm selling at face value" stories (at Wembley, online, or in Sheffield). Just because they are not asking for a mark up, it does not mean that they are not a tout (selling the same ticket multiple times).
  18. Baker Street is 2 stops from Wembley Park (12 minutes).. then the walk down old Wembley Way Some good pubs.... just get off the main road south of Baker Street station
  19. You will need the ID number plus the persons Surname OR Postcode.
  20. Isn't it Steve McCall on the near post ?
  21. Best since Eric McMordie ?
  22. I’m looking for 3 tickets in the Wednesday end for the Lincoln game. I know it’s a long shot, but this is for a special occasion celebration. Maybe someone has tickets but not able to use for some reason or maybe we can later return a favour if someone can offer three. We are genuine long standing Owls with decades of season ticket history between us but just don’t have enough points for the game. Happy to discuss any Ideas via PM. Fingers crossed Cheers
  23. Right move at the right time, for a genuine Wednesdayite. Really hope that he goes on and grows into a good career. Good luck Alex !
