  1. The irony of saying we're too busy talking about you, whilst you post in a thread about us
  2. You'd think he'd know this, living "in Vancouver"
  3. Yeah that's right. Naughton was the first team regular. Walker came in mid season due to injuries. Add Jagielka, Calvert-Lewin and Ramsdale to the list of youth players we sold (cheaply) that went on to play for England If only we'd held onto them longer ... not Ramsdale though. He's a right nob
  4. Could have been McCabe. Was during the Warnock era though. If putting up a cardboard honours board was the craziest thing McCabe did for us, then I'm fine with it. United fans had a love hate relationship with McCabe. Mainly because he sold our best players at the first opportunity. Looking back, he was keeping the club in business and the money received helped keep funding the club... something your boss could learn from. Whilst they hurt at the time, selling Walker, Naughton, Maguire, Brooks and Ramsdale were correct decisions, all youth players who we got decent money for at the time. It was the Beattie sale in January that annoyed me. We finished 3rd after selling the leading scorer.
  5. That "honours board" was put up by Warnock apparently. Embarrassing If you support a different club it's possible. United have been promoted to it 3 times, so it would be impossible to have seen a 4th
  6. Well considering we were founder members of the PL it's impossible to have seen any more
  7. Throughout my life we've always been the "nearly men". Had some fantastic seasons and cup runs but always come up short when it really matters. You asked how I feel about the past 25 years? I've seen 3 promotions to the PL and 3 championship play off finals in addition to 5 cup semi finals. The play offs finals and cup semis drive home the point of the "nearly men", we don't do one off games. I'd confidently say I've seen us win more games than we've lost. I think I'm right in saying the only bottom half Championship finish was the one in which we were relegated. The real low point was the 6 consecutive seasons in League 1, which again included 3 play off failures. In 2019/20 when we were up in the PL, I really thought we'd cracked it and would have a sustained period up there. Obviously we were relegated the following season which has resulted in a bit of Yo-Yoing. The last promotion showed how difficult it is up there and last season with Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich doing the same as the 3 before them proves the gap is getting bigger and bigger. I don't think we can sustain it up there now without spending like mad, or finding gems abroad to sell on for profits and keep turning them out - Brighton/Brentford for example. That's nonsensical. That seems to be a bit of a Wednesday defence mechanism. Of course finishing above Wednesday is great. That's what rivalries are, you want to be better than your rivals. But merely finishing higher isn't success.
  8. So how do you feel about your actual 25 years then ?
  9. That goal was the most exciting thing that happened for you this season
  10. Have you decided on next season's thread title yet? Always an exciting time of year
  11. Any of our fans who think that need to be locked up in a straight jacket. What a stupid thought
  12. That's awful. RIP, little man
