Melons player ratings: Dawson - 7. Did the basics right. Wouldn’t have expected him to have done anything with either goal. Hunt - 6. Didn’t have a bad game. Really has lost his pace tho. Palmer - 8.5. He gets better every season. Will be playing in the champions league when he’s 40 at this rate Iorfa - First half 4. Second half 8. James - 7. Nice assist. Would be nice to see him have a game or 2 at Lwb. Johnson - 6. Really poor first half in terms of his passing and crossing. Improved in the second half. Vaulks - 7 Byers - 8 really good player Bannan - 7 Windass - 8 Always in the right place it seems. Smith - 6.5 was a nuisance for their defenders but I think the ball doesn’t always stick up with him as well as it doesn’t with Gregory. Service to Smith in first half poor Dennis - 8.5 new Rwb?! Gregory - 8 really good player technically sublime just a joy to watch tbh

I’m sorry if you think for a seconds Wilks deserves a higher rating than Vaulks or Byers then you know absolutely nothing about football

Windass had 2 chances to play in an unmarked Smith in the first half and didnt. As well as 2 other poor crosses in the first half. Hunt was awful, was out of position constantly and he’s lost his pace. Wilks didn’t win a single header when he came on and lost possession about 5 times through silly decisions. My ratings are justified

Was a great player in his day. Gregory - 8 such as good player to bring off the bench, was excellent when he came on. Wilks - 5. Plays like he’s under the influence

Had space in front of him in first half that he was afraid to go into. Hutchinson - n/a. Bannan - 4. Wasteful, nothing he did worked. Was trying too hard to go for the killer pass. Gave it away a lot. Reach - 4. Tried, did nothing. Boyd - 5. Worked hard. He's a bit slow. Matias - 2. Did he even play? Non existent. Fletcher - 7. Tried hard. Held it up in places. Did the best he could from very limited service. Pelupessy - 5. Got stuck in. Offers nothing going forward. Bannan has to play deeper when he plays. Winnall - 3. Understandably off the space.

jack hunt is our worst defender. he got ripped up last night. going forward he's fine but we need an all round right back like Palmer to start games. also palmer has 2 assists this season, hunt has ZERO so palmer is technically better attacking as well
