Not going to go through all the rubbish that has been our last few seasons. Been covered on numerous threads before. If DC really wants to re engage with the fans well before the season starts, I feel he must engage with our history and ditch that awful badge, replacing it with our proud Owl of past. He must also go retro with the home and away kits. Traditional blue and white home, yellow and blue away. In other wise, bring back Bukta. I think that this will show the fans that he is listening to what we want and is trying to raise the Phoenix from the ashes

Protest on Wednesday at ground
The Harlequin replied to Mightyowl1867's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We need to get there in numbers but maintain social distancing, masks etc to give the media no chance of criticising us -

couldn’t agree more -
I don’t care how much affinity SB has with the Toon, the fact that we bent over backwards to accommodate his request for recovery time for the loss of his parents and his own ill heath, when, let’s be honest we needed him at the helm to look at the squad over the remaining matches of last season with a view to identifying our strengths and weaknesses, for a promotion push this season, and for him to even entertain talking to the Toon, for me shows a total lack of respect for our club. IMO SB should have told them to do one. He would have been massively respected for this. Instead he’s done the opposite. Well I for one will say to SB what he should have said “SB DO ONE!”

There is no reason or rhyme for Fessie to be sold. We must keep hold of our best players if we are to push for promotion next season. I have little doubt that SB will find out why we are getting so many injuries, and his team will put this right. We played as a team last night. Confident, aggressive and looking to cause Norwich problems. Give SB pre season and if FFP allows us, build a team we can be proud of

We’ve Had Enough Playing For You
The Harlequin replied to theowlsman's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you have to play your best players, if they are fit, no matter what. Jos simply isn’t doing this. Imagine Big Ron not picking Hirsty, Sheridan or Nillson “for football reasons” it beggars belief. We as fans deserve to be told the truth about what is happening within our club. I am dreading Friday as I think we will get hammered. Will anyone in senior management at Wednesday care? I doubt it -
Queens Park Rangers - V - Wednesday OMDT
The Harlequin replied to Lord Snooty's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Got to say this. It’s all good and well trying to bring youth into the first team but they need experienced pros alongside them to guide them and give them confidence. We we simply don’t have any experience in deference, we are shocking. All this tippy tappy football from the goalie to our defenders worries me. It invites attackers on and its costing us. Having the the majority of possession is ok as long as there is an end result. We have been relying on wonder strikes from outside the box to score goals, this also worries me. What is the point of playing Atde up front if your wide players don’t get to the by line and provide crosses for him to attack? Lucas Jiao should be no where near the first team he offers nothing. IMHO we lack a clear definition of what our team are supposed to do and who are the best players to make this work. Im not convinced Jos is the best manager to take us forward. He doesn’t know English football, he doesn’t understand how passionately we feel about our club and he clearly doesn’t know how to get the best out of the players we have. And before you ask who I would replace him with, Nigel Pearson. -
We were promised promotion this season, due to injuries to key players this isn’t going to happen. At at the moment we are struggling to put out a competitive side, with today’s suspensions things are only going to get worse. we have to wright off this season now, blood some of the youngsters and start some serious planning for next year. What have have we got to lose?

I’m sad to announce the passing of Peter Belk. Peter was the Owl who suffered a heart attack at Hillsborough. Despite the the courageous efforts of fans and paramedics Peter never regained consciousness. Peter was a big friend of my fiancé’s Dad, Richard, and will be sorely missed. My condolences to Peters family and friends at this sad time. RIP Peter, another Owl in Heaven

It has to come from DC. Appoint a manger who has proven experience of getting promotion from this league with experienced Wendesites supporting him -

All I’m asking for is an owner who respects our history and tradition and is striving hard to take us forward. Have you seen the West Stand? It’s a joke -

To shake the players hands after that performance shows he isn’t passionate about our club. Yes hes he’s invested a substantial amount of money in transfers, but he’s alienated the fans. Hes changed our our crest into something a three year old could design, he’s changed our kit from the old blue and white stripes (Bukta), he’s charging top price to watch dross week in and week out. The players dont don’t feel the history of our club and what it means to wear the SWFC shirt. As Lee said, only 2 or 3 of the players stood up to say that today’s performance was unacceptable. What about the rest? Time for the owner to understand what it means to be a Wednesdayite, it’s not a given, it’s our way of life. Promise something, make it happen or do one. We’ve been messed around for too long TH -

So if you couldn't get a ticket
The Harlequin replied to BrianMarwood's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
At home with the Mrs. Pizza and brandy at the ready. Really disappointed we couldn't get tickets but at least we get to see the game. Make the old lady feel like hell for Brighton all Owls that are going, this could be the best night at Hillsborough in years. Make it so! -

Don't think many would come TBH. Make a point if you see what I mean. Unless the West Stand has been demolished, which I think will happen sooner rather than later, now the inquest is over. -

SCC and SYP are missing a trick here. Having a team in the PL promotes the city not just the club. It would bring in extra cash into the local economy. They should be doing everything possible to get the ground full, safely of course. Especially as it's on Sky, I mean the atmosphere at Leicester and even Boro sounded awesome, would look terrible if we have swathes of empty seats for what is the biggest home match in years. -

Brighton fans have no grudge with us, segregation should be at minimal levels so as many seats as possible can be released. Happens at other grounds so can be done. -
Cheers Trev, whatever you do I'm having one mate, love your work. So does my new partner, ex Chelsea, now an Owl

Still got mine, my Mrs left too, definitely kept the right one. Get goosebumps looking at it. What's next Trev?

Owls fans get ready, I've been an Owl since I was 7 years old, I'm now 48. Only once in my lifetime have I been so proud to be an Owl. We've had a couple of years in the early 90's that gave us a glimpse of what our club could become. In the few months that Mr Chansiri took control, appointed a relatively unknown coach, we have become what I always dreamed of, a club that embraced our tradition, built on that with quality signings on the pitch, playing brilliant football, all with a single goal in mind, promotion. It may not happen this season but I believe it will happen. Owls fans, enjoy the ride, embrace it, this is a special time in our history
