I’ve long thought that there are so many imaginative architectural solutions to new stadiums that could nod to the past. I love the profile of the south stand / grandstand. Imagine if the stadium could be redeveloped with 3 new stands that all complement it

I think a modern stadium that nods to a cities industrial past could be incredible if well executed. But that’s not it. You can’t just bolt some chimneys onto a modern stadium design and call it a good un.

I think you are missing the bigger picture. Under the circumstances that you describe then of course it’s a legitimate use of new technology. But look around the world and it doesn’t take a leap of imagination to see this kind of technology being applied to anyone who doesn’t agree with the states view. Thats just a bit Orwellian.

I'm one of them. I just don't like them. I remember feeling physically sick for a week before the Wembley semi. There's no explanataion for it, on the face of it, it's very silly. But even when we had a vastly superior team we sometimes struggled. I'll never forget that 3-1 game at our place. I could have gone this weekend, I've been in sheffield for 2 weeks caring for my Mum, and was due to fly home Monday. Ended up changing my flights to Saturday. I miss my kids…
