They have Rio Allan who scored loads at Hallam last season. He's carried on scoring this pre-season for Scarborough. The Scarborough manager says he worked our keeper often in this game. I suppose if he scores a mad amount of goals for Scarborough this term (three steps up from Hallam's league) the next is an EFL chance. So one to watch, but we can't sign anyone window upon window anyway.

We need new ownership or it's stagnation or worse. I just can't see us going to any 'next level' or progressing ln this league - with the current minimal backing. All this with no pull up on the ticket prices. We are like an exhausted squeezed out lemon. Done well with the squeeze but can't see much else coming through.

Was looking forward to a good midfield 3 of Baz, Charles, and Armstrong. That's what looking forward does. We are much weaker now and I believe, unfortunately, that it will show. As this been building up, or is it out of the blue? If the latter then Armstrong was like a kinda replacement more than a compliment. We are not too strong in this area now.

My thoughts exactly.

If it is Bannan then the Armstrong signing will be owned as a master stroke by the club thus elevating the transfer window as a remarkable event.

If a defender, we will have to hit the free market. No questions about dat!
