Unlike these days where if your one of the few English keepers in the prem you'll more than likely pick up a few caps there was a lot of competition when Ron was in his prime and to be the most capped keeper in English history at the time tells you good he was .....took one of the world greats to knock him off the number 1 spot .

I think you're right there .....I always took pride in being one of the 6000 who went to Colchester game in sticking with the club and I'm sure the 3000 who went to the Grimsby game will probably think the same ......others will judge them differently but that probably won't bother them it certainly didn't me back in the day when I was ridiculed for going .

I'm saying older folk as a rule don't sing daft songs at football matches and coz they don't doesn't mean they don't care as the poster seems to think that the over 60s don't ..........as for the last bit I don't think they should be there to sing about him but I have no issue that if they have to go that they sing whatever they like just don't expect to many seniors to join in.

It's not though ......the pies are decent and been told that the Thai noodles and curry is very good .decent pint of draught stones and while I don't rate it there's the wednesday pale ale that seems to sell well .......still no excuse for people buying it and breaking the non-spending request though .

Of course we're bothered but singing songs to him isn't going to shift him .....staying away will but some of every age don't want to do that so it's not just the older generation who are culpable .

abusing the ref is a way of life for every football fan......singing a ditty about a bloke who's not there isn't ...... I'm sure everyone wants him gone but telling him to get out of our club when he's 6000 miles away may seem pointless to some ......starving him will hopefully work abusing him probably won't .
