  1. Fair enough, my apologies!
  2. Absolutely this. The signs are promising, however: Administration of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club is a disaster. Caused by one, now cowardly silent man, who has run away. Administration is a disaster for plenty of local businesses, who I assume are owed money and now waiting to see how much they will get. There has been a tendency in the past to criticise other teams for going into administration and coming out smelling of roses. We're incredible at grouping together and raising money, it shouldn't just be for the club. We should make sure that local businesses, and others who are owed money, are looked after. For me, start with St John's, and go from there.
  3. Glad to read this, so cheers for the post. My first thought was this was Orwellian. The one big argument I've heard against it was 'What would happen if you were in the area and trying to help the situation?' In fairness there's still a thin line here. It needs to be talked about before they just pile ahead and introduce it.
  4. Probably should have ignored this like most have, but there's a good few players who have played for both us and Leeds. Start you off with Sheridan and Palmer.
  5. Who do you respect most regarding their time at Wednesday, Wilson or Di Canio? For me, it's Wilson.
  6. In hindsight only. At the time, he had Barnsley fans singing 'it's just like watching Brazil' as a young and up coming manager taking them to promotion against the odds. With a link as a very good player in one our of few glory spells.
  7. That is incredibly kind of you, an unbelievable gesture. I’d feel bad taking you up on it though, but I really appreciate the offer. Amazing stuff.
  8. It's a potential win-win though, for the club and a select group of fans. If the club can run it at a small profit, and some fans feel like they're getting a good deal without the up front lump payment myself, and I'm guessing a few others would struggle with, it works. Even if it just comes down to a bit of extra spending in the ground etc.
  9. I'm going to be brutally honest here, I've heard of the V12 finance option, for someone not so great with money and struggling financially, but slowly getting there, they may tell me to bugger off As I appreciate the club might too to be fair. But I'm sure they'd find plenty of takers.
  10. Something in line with the the early bird season ticket prices, but obviously with a premium for paying over time. So say a Kop season ticket for myself and my daughter would be around £700-800, a monthly payment of £60-£70/£80?
  11. I think when it has been discussed before, the issue of cancelling at a whim has been a stumbling block. I would be happy to go with a season long subscription. Perhaps with some benefits, membership, 10% off club shop purchases etc. And obviously more expensive overall than the early bird season ticket price. I know there has also been previous initiatives based on credit cards, finance etc, but I think it could be done in-house, if that makes sense.
  12. Please can this be the number one 'easy win' offer our new owners bring in. I've banged on about it in the past, and each time when we've discussed it, there's more positives than negatives overall, by a country mile. Other clubs have run it successfully. I happily paid £25 for myself and my daughter to go to the last home game, and we both loved it. It's been a season and a half since we both went. Partially down to my stance on Chansiri, partially down to personal circumstances and finances. I can't justify paying £60 for the Sheffield United game, in my current circumstances. My personal limit, absolute limit for POTG, is £30 for me and £15 for my daughter. But if we could find a way to make it more affordable, and spread the cost over the season via monthly payments, we would be there pretty much every game, spending money in the club and around the ground at local businesses. I would love to be able to pay a set amount each month, knowing we can get to all games.
  13. Always thought that we could play the 'traditional old ground' aspect to our benefit though. As many of the old grounds continue to disappear, there will be few left to compare to Hillsborough. Newcastle's will go soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see Aston Villa's go. Most of the old grounds will be replaced by the new bowl type stadium. Sheffield is the birthplace of football. If we were to redevelop the stadium, keep the traditional aspects while brining it up to modern standards, we may be on to something.
  14. £30 has been my maximum price for pay on the day for a while now. I wont pay £40 for the Sheffield United game, as much as I'd like to. Tv it is. I would, however, pay a monthly subscription for myself and my daughter. I've brought it up a few times, and would hope it would be something our new owners would look into.
  15. I always wonder what the rent is for stands at Christmas markets, when I've just paid £9 for a Bratwurst in a roll, and been called a tight arse for refusing to pay £35 for a candle, considering you can get 6 Bratwurst for £3.99 at Lidl.
  16. I agree with you to a degree, it's mostly soundbites. But if a player like Bannan or Windass says something along the lines of 'best coach I've worked with in my career', or something similar, then I'll take notice. Personally, I think Röhl will go on to have a brilliant career. And I'll enjoy watching it and seeing how it pans out. And always be gutted he wasn't given the chance to have taken us up to the next level.
  17. Bought 2 today for me and the young un, first game for 18 months. Can’t wait, going to be magic getting to a game again.
  18. There’s a few pubs supplied together by Thornbridge and Pivovar, which is based in Elvington near York. They brew Mittel, which is excellent. They have station pubs in Harrogate, York and Newcastle, several other pubs in York, and a couple in Leeds, and one in Birmingham. Due to open in Hull and London as well. The Fargate building is incredible.
  19. Translation: I’m sorry, I accept that I have just been proven completely and unequivocally wrong.
  20. Missed that, which song? Heaven knows I’m miserable now?
  21. I deliver beer there! If you’ve had a beer there there’s a good chance it was brought there by my fair hands. Incredible place. Owned by the same people as the taps in the station.
  22. If it was my lad I would be absolutely fuming about the management of him as a developing player. The farce of the pre-season, meaning the players almost certainly weren't up to speed fitness and preparation wise. Thrown into first team football, in a toxic / depressed atmosphere. Playing through an injury. The utter chaos around the club. Unpaid wages. If it was my son, even as a Wednesday fan, I'd be looking at getting him out of the club as soon as possible. This is where Chansiri has us. And this will spiral as the season progresses. It's got to come to a head soon, one way or another. God knows why Man Utd sent us their kid on loan, and who advised him it would be a good move. Absolutely crazy. Chansiri is a disgrace, hiding away, no communication, with fans, but even worse, with the staff of Sheffield Wednesday. The disdain I have for him is now off the scale. The situation is beyond a joke, and depressingly, it is going to get a lot, lot worse.
  23. Fair play to him and good luck. Cracking statement, and the non-thanks to Chansiri speaks volumes. I can see many more following, this could be a grim few weeks. On the back of a long term injury to one of our better young players, thrown in at the deep end and playing through injury. Disgusting in itself. This could be a house of cards. 'If the fans want me to sell, I'll sell'. Do it then you utter disgrace, coward, pathetic (insert swear word here).
  24. Not walking, but I’ve had 3 magic trips on the bike to watch us at Wembley, Cardiff and heiloo in Holland for a preseason tour.
  25. I do get where you’re coming from, but as soon as the fans start turning on the players and managers, the defeats will go from 2, 3, 4 nil to 6, 7, 8 nil. The club is in utter chaos. The full effects of a joke pre season, injuries and exhaustion haven’t even taken effect yet. As hard as it is, the players and manager have to be backed. I get a bit of criticism, but anyone blaming this on anyone other than Chansiri, is honestly have no words.
