  1. @Gilly92 I dropped you a message in your Inbox yesterday but I'm not sure if you'll be able to access it as you have less than 50 messages to your name. @Owlstalk Admin Team is there any way for us to be connected on this topic?
  2. Modric is always the one that stands out to me
  3. As per title, Bristol-based Owl looking for 2 tickets for me and my old man. If anyone has a spare couple of tickets, you'd make our day!
  4. Fully behind the actions here and agree we need to keep momentum going. Agree with the posts that mention visual and bright coloured to have the biggest impact, especially on TV. A simpler option to the yellow scarves (difficult to manufacture) would be fans wearing and/or the group selling (and using the proceeds for fundraising) yellow t shirts. I think this is a low cost solution for all involved - you can buy a yellow t shirt for a few quid in Primark - and would be very effective visually. The Group could even hand out t shirts to fans on the front 15 rows of the Kop and North to make sure this is fully visible on TV.
  5. What a great signing and deal on the cheap! To the tune of Abba's "The Winner Takes It All" "Sam Winnall scores a goaaalllll, The Dingles standing smalllll, We signed him up for nowt, Great signing, there’s no doubt" Braces self for abuse...
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Winnall It must be true
  7. I would think the offer is more sensible for supporters to get a 50% refund if the club got PROMOTED. The cost of refunding a few thousand new ST holders would be nothing compared to the riches of promotion, and it might tempt a few more to sign up. An idea for SWFC?
  8. Balham for me too - 15.3 miles according to Google
  9. Living in London, I don't agree with Soho being a bad area to drink in - everyone spills out on street everywhere and there are pubs on every corner Group of about 30 of us are meeting at the King & Queen on Foley Street after the game. Decent pub showing Sky Sports for the Champions League final with outdoor drinking http://www.thekingandqueenpub.com/ Porterhouse is a good bet too, but will be rammed full of stag do's and wouldn't surprise me if they stopped letting in if too many Wednesday
  10. Agree with the responses. I don't think we should make managerial changes now. Am just questioning the tactics for games like tonight, which was really similar to Charlton and I thought we would have learnt from. If we're not challenging in Jan, I wouldn't be surprised if he considers replacing CC. This team could be capable of far more, and for all the good football we can play, points and results matter most...
  11. 6 games live, all the games on Sky, and everything else on Wednesday player. To support Wednesday through and through, you don't just have to live in Sheffield. This isn't a post about support though, we were sh*te tonight and CC needs to pull his finger out before Jan or else he should be replaced with a proven "winner" of a manager
  12. I don't post often on Owlstalk but I am a regular reader and enthusiast, and get to as many games as I can - for example, Stoke a few weeks back, taking a days annual leave for the privilege As a London Owl on my way home tonight, I wanted to give my verdict on tonight's performance: 1) Tactics/team were a joke. We came out of the blocks with no recognisable game plan and, similar to the Charlton game, we were outfought and outperformed by an inferior team. I don't know what Carlos is saying in his team talk but it obviously isn't right. I genuinely think we have a team capable of top 6, but I'm not convinced Carlos is the man to take us there. Wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if he's gone in January 2) The fans. I was sitting in the corner between tango and the "hardcore" behind the goal. It seemed to consist of a selection of southern-accented, Premier League-watching prima donnas, who decided to boo the team off at half time. I have a southern accent myself and have no discrimination whatever the accent, but these fans were fickle, soft (calling for fouls every time Mk Dons went in for a tackle) and were generally not what I have grown up watching Wednesday amongst. I know we have a strong London following but if any of this lot are reading this tonight, I hope they take note and sort it out for the next away day. 3) The referee. Some fans will blame the ref for tonight's defeat. That is ridiculous! He may have got the odd decision wrong, but on the whole MK Dons completely outbattled us and we were not good enough. It's a useful excuse to blame him, and all of the frustration and energy was pent out on him in the final ten mins, but if you actually think about it, the reason we didn't win tonight is because we weren't good enough. We were sh*te. Great night as always supporting Wednesday, but the lads did not do us proud in any way, and for once, the fans didn't either. Disillusioned fan on way back to Landan townnn Interested to get other people's views...
  13. I live down near London Bridge. Would say The George Inn or Barrowboy & Banker are the best bets. 10 min train from London Bridge to the ground
  14. Always a great away day this - original ground with character and easy to generate a massive noise! We must have sold out the original 1,900 batch - I bought 9 yesterday and only 10 remaining then. Anyone know if we'll be getting a further allocation? Would hope to sell over 2.5k given the current optimism and how we are riding on the crest of our Wednesday wave...
