Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not
El Wednesday replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Blunts fans are absolutely terrified of us getting a new stadium. It would totally transform our club and leave them in the dust. -
If our new owner doesn't immediately make this our official club badge, then I know we've got another moron in charge.

The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate
El Wednesday replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
A bit of creative seating arrangment goes a long way, too. Certainly better than the owner's name -

Maybe our new owners will be happy to splash the cash? A stadium is the ultimate legacy. We can at least dream for the next few weeks, eh? -
The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate

Yeah, I mentioned this on another thread a few weeks back. It's a good one. Zaragoza not dissimilar to Wednesday in terms of size/recent underachievement, too. -

That's exactly why I like it, too. -

How much does the new SWFC owner need?
El Wednesday replied to YesWeCrann's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Basically, we need to copy the Brighton model. Be interesting to know how much they spent. -
Yorath getting that side to a League Cup semi-final was one of the weirdest things to ever happen at SWFC (on the pitch, at least).

All the managers who worked under Ch**siri's Flying Circus have a certain sense of leeway. For me - and he doesn't have the above excuse - Alan Irvine was by far the worst.

I was thinking the same. Be great to get 2 or 3 Prem youngsters of the quality of Amass bedded in, but only if we had the option of extending their loans next season.

Surely we have to pay our transfer fee debts to other clubs before getting new players in? That's just one of the current embargoes.

If the new owners are gonna be the big-hitters that some people are suggesting, then there's absolutely no chance on earth we'll stay at Hillsborough. West Sand should have been levelled decades ago. Kop is literally built on a mound of dirt. North Stand has been neglected for far too long. South stand is decent but I'm not especially tall (6ft) and struggle to fit in the seats. Like others have said (and as much as I love to ramble on about our nineties team), it's time to look foward and build a fresh/forward-thinking club for our young uns.

A message for the new owner(s)
El Wednesday replied to Salmonbones's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
True but my point was the trad design. Suppose it could easily be adapted to be 50k -

Something like the new (under construction) Real Zaragoza stadium. Modern facilities that keep a traditional straight-edged footprint. 43k capacity. -
Minutes Silence, Remembrance Day.
El Wednesday replied to huddsOWL's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Silence or clapping... the whole point is everyone in unison respectfully focusing their thoughts on the same thing for a minute. -

Is it 28 working days, though? -

It's interesting that since then, Kaiserslautern have also spent extended periods outside the top flight. -
Have you ever doubted a new signing from day 1?
El Wednesday replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
An over-the-hill Barry Horne. Guy couldn't leave the centre circle. Knew we'd given up on Premier League survival at that point. -
Just bought tickets for my lad and I, the first money I've spent on SWFC in months. It's hugely important for me, in that it's (hopefully) going to reignite the passion for SWFC that had been fading away for my 9yo son. It's a day I've been looking forward to for ages and I honestly thought I'd have to wait much longer for it. Absolutely buzzing. See you all there. UTO.

Were you disappointed in the gate yesterday?
El Wednesday replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It's school half-term, so a lot of people (like myself) are away on hols. -
Easy wins for the new owners
El Wednesday replied to TheSlicer's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Give the women's team some proper backing. Have them playing at Hillsborough if possible. -

No f**kin about with our usual two years to get out of Div 3. Need to smash it like Brum did.
