  1. Top lad and top lass!!!
  2. I think it was easily Iorfa. Even without his goal, he was outstanding.
  3. I hate possession football in its current form and the dreadful tiki-taka that came before it, and I have done for a long time - see my posts above from as early as 2012. There’s nothing wrong with possession football when it’s played with an emphasis on attacking and not to either constantly “reset” or starve the opposition of the ball. I’ve no problem with analysis. It’s been around a long time in some form or other.
  4. In an interesting twist, Cleethorpes FC play in Grimsby.
  5. He’s not an MP - he’s in the House of Lords.
  6. I don't think that couldn't happen unfortunately. That land was gifted to the people of Sheffield by some rich industrialist and, therefore, cannot be developed for private enterprise.
  7. Ecclesfield where Ecclesfield Red Rose FC/Meadow Farm is and where Shardlow's used to be and the land/fields behind going into Chapeltown. That way, it'd be a hop, skip and a jump for me.
  8. Weaver would be on the bench for me with Palmer in the back three instead of Otegbayo. Playing Palmer in midfield didn’t work today as he is a defender not a midfielder. The young lad that came on for Palmer (his name escapes me) should always be picked for midfield in front of Palmer. Weaver and Otegbayo are too inexperienced and need easing into the first team.
  9. Let’s just calm down. I’m sure that the EFL will be sensitive to and sensible with any new owner.
  10. It must be really embarrassing for the manchild.
  11. When you look down at your ċ0ck it looks smaller than when you look at it in the mirror. Shanypants
  12. What’s the term I’m searching for? Erm…..erm…….oh yes, I have it “dog5h1t”.
  13. Agree with all of that. There’s an obsession in modern football with “Number 10”s, and playing two (one either side of a centre-forward) just plays into a packed defences hands in my opinion. You obviously know this but back in the day, we didn’t refer to them as “Number 10”s - they were forwards that “played in the hole” and the king of that position was Peter Beardsley. I am of the opinion that we should only have one of such player in each team because they need to have a free role to cause their damage and having a free role obviously affects formation and team play. If we are to have three up front then I’d rather us go for an old-fashioned inside left and inside right or two wingers as that would give more balance and contribution to team play.
  14. Rashford is on his way back IMO. He could be in prime form for the World Cup if he has a good season
  15. Anderson is my MoM.
  16. As I suggested earlier, Eze and Madueke play their own games. Tuchal talked about getting around the outside of Andorra but Eze and Madueke don’t have that in their games. We should have been hitting Rashford constantly as he does have the qualities to get down the sides and we should have pushed Lewis-Skelly and James much further forward as they do also have the quality to get to the touchline and whip a ball into the danger area. I think we are desperately missing Saka who, for me, has been our standout player for a good three of four years - Eze and Madueke aren’t fit enough to lace Saka’s boots.
  17. I don’t really care who manages us as long as they pick a team that can play with a bit of fluency. It’s painful watching England’s fractured play over the last few years. We don’t seem to be able to put two or three telling passes together nor do we look like a team.
  18. “that” not “taft”.
  19. The problem with the England team in general is the number of modern “crash, bang, wallop” forwards like Eze and Madueke we try to incorporate into our team - these types of players can be effective but they tend to play for themselves and tend to make their own goals out of nothing - I’d much prefer to have players like Rashford Taft can hug a touchline.
  20. My guess is that only men over the age of 45 (maybe 50) will understand that reference in these days of all night drinking.
