If we are changing the badge why not give the ground its original name of Owlerton back. it was changed in 1914 to reflect the parliamentary area name of Hillsborough. I remember my Dad and uncles all calling it Owlerton. Gets rid of the stigma of the present name

Notice there is No Hillsborough on the maps it’s Owlerton. The grounds name was changed partly because the trams destination plates were changed from Owlerton to Hillsborough so to avoid confusion the grounds name was changed

Lets get things accurate guys. The Stadium was not called Hillsborough until 1914. before the it was Called Owlerton from 1899. One of the reasons for the change of name was because the Trams not longer had Owlerton as the destination a the front. they had changed it to Hillsborough and it was thought people getting the tram to a match might be confused. The guy with the Jesus jacket was NOT a jehoahs witness but a born again Christian who attended the Owlerton evangelical church. He traveled to Wembley in 66 with his banner on one of the supporters trains to spread his message. For many years he could be found speaking to shoppers on High Street. I remember my dad and uncles always said they were going to Owlerton to see Wednesday.

I was in my firms lorry at Malin bridge and the team had been running somewhere in rivelin. Willy was lost so he climbed into the cab beside me and we dropped him at the top of Leppings Lane. I can claim to getting nearer to him than most fulll backs lol.

For years now supporters in the south stand have been able to exit the stand through the main entrance and onto the bridge. Today we are told we can no longer do this. And to get to the bridge we must go down the stairs and exit alongside the turnstiles. Then of course climb the stairs from the forecourt and up to the bridge. For my age 76 I’m fairly fit but there were many today with mobility problems who struggled. So why and what has changed.

Last night Im was persuaded by a mate to join him in the North stand and what a sad experience it was. From the kick off 3 guys behind us just hammered every move by every player. not just their opinion the veracity of the language was beyond belief. Thank goodness this for me was a one off. The good thing was two of thenm left just before Bakinson scored. They must get rest hen pecked at home to be in this state when let loose.

So are there grants available to facilitate the replacement of the West stand. After all it does seem to be a matter which every club in the country has an opinion on. So maybe they would all like to chip in from the coffers. Is there any truth in the rumour that a leading member of the SAG committee is a lifelong Blade. If so does he withdraw from the process when Hillsborough is discussed.?

As we use our original name then also the ground should revert to its original name. Owlerton

Good little player in the dark days of the70s condolences to his loved ones.

Does anyone know why two thirds of the lights on the kop roof and one third of the ones on the Leppings Lane stand are not on during the game. They have been out for at least the last two games.

I keep read that we are under a transfer restriction which says we can’t actually buy players. Can someone show where this has come from and the actual restriction.
