My favourite player since Sheridan, for so many reasons. Whilst I'm not saying he is quite as good as Sheri was, for Championship level he's outstanding, and he's a model pro. Also, I'd totally forgotten that he'd taken the corner that Wallace swung in for Joao's header, and also took the free kick that was knocked across the six yard box for Hutch's goal. Key passes in all three goals! Honestly, it must be an absolute joy for any Championship level player to have played alongside him. It would be a nightmare to play against him too, but the opposition players, managers, commentators, and fans, all seem to give him his due respect. And he's still at it 10 years later, I reckon if he plays against Leeds he could still dish out a master class to EPL pretenders! Unreal indeed

Haha, funnily enough i was thinking only Billy the blunt has that kind of longevity and impact (statistically speaking). I guess goals will always stand out,. But better than Bannan; i don't fückin think so! If Sharp had signed for Wednesday then i reckon Bazza would have supplied him with even more goals than he got for the oinkers!

I was buzzing when he signed for us, i remembered him from his Villa says and was surprised Palace let him go. Really can't argue with any of the praise and plaudits he gets and in terms of his impact on Wednesday and, more broadly, the efl he really shouldn't (and isn't) underestimated by anyone with an ounce of football knowledge. Can he be criticised? Of course, but only in that he probably tries to do too much sometimes, and picks up some uneccessary cautions. But i really can't be too harsh with that said, as he is the absolute polar opposite of the like of Adam Reach and (shudder) Jay Boothroyd, or whatever that absolute waste of space was called. If one passage of play could sum up what Bazza is all about it has to be the lead up to Wallace's goal in the Arsenal cup game. Simple pass to Joao, demands it back off him not once but twice, then a first time precision clipped through ball releasing Pudil overlapping down that wing to pull back for big Ross to fire home. Quality, technique, awareness, vision, passing range, and leadership all in one short passage of play. Never hides and recognised by no less than Pep Guardiola as an absolute gem of a player. Definitely an efl hall of famer, and a modern day Wednesday legend in terms of impact, abilty, leadership and loyalty. Better than Zidane (and i fükın love Zidane!)

Toast - everyone takes a piece of burnt toast and covers one side in golden churn butter (black and gold until we're sold). As the match kicks off everyone takes a bite out of their neighbours slice of toast (fight off those hunger pangs as we boycott the food kiosks), then flip them into the air in an attempt to prove once and for all whether toast lands butter side down. Then on 5 minutes, everyone whips out a small plastic carton of honey and proceeds to buzz like a bee (no whistles). I honestly surprise myself sometimes... Saddened by this news Asteener, obviously i don't know you personally but have always enjoyed your take on things. It definitely puts things into perspective, the experience of sickness and loss. My mother's breast cancer recently returned 20 odd years after rearing it's ugly head. Back then i remember feeling so powerless to help, but it focused my mind and led to me working for the NHS. This time I'm living the other side of europe and felt a similar powerlessness, but i have faith it will focus my mind once again. To add to that, I recently found out my cousins 11 year daughter is due to have brain surgery on a tumour, as a parent myself of an 11 year old son, i can truely sense the worry and fear that my cousin must be going through. You must have felt the same and I'm truly saddened by your son's death. Honestly, our beloved owls have taken a back seat for me as for you. Family and friends are the most important thing. Football and Wednesday are an admittedly close second. My entire family are Wednesday through and through, and while the likes of Chansiri will never understand that kind of bond, we do. So glad you were able to get to the match yesterday, whether we believe in an after life or not, I am sure your son was there with you, you even heard him laugh. Sincere condolences to you and yours, and thank you for the many laughs you've given owlstalkers down the years with your wit and observations.
