🦉 v ⚔️ The Steel City Derby: Official Matchday Thread
Plonk replied to ReginaldD's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Totally embarrassed by that performance. No one comes out of the with any credit. Only hope is new owners fizz them all off. Honestly nobody deserves to stay at the club after that. -

Let's just hope wilder does his usual half time bottle job. Not sure we've got owt to take advantage though if he does. Just clinging to the thought that this will be the last time we have to endure this shot -

Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!

Those moaning it's not sold out...flick your telly on and look at all the empty seats at the Coventry west brom game. -
If we are going to mega rich we should buy meadowhall, knock it down and build there. It would ******** a lot of Sheffield women but eh ho

Curious as to why you say not practical?
-
If prospective owners are already discussing it why shouldn't we? If as has been suggested they are interested in developing the whole are then owlerton would be ideal, the training ground could expand into Niagara and there's a huge plot where the current ground is. Could be very exciting times ahead?
-
He's only interested in one thing. Cash Dangle a few quid in front of him he will be slavering like pavlos dog.
-
Looking on Google earth the dog track is lot bigger than I remember it. There's also land around it. Anyone know what the buildings between the church and leisure centre are? Include them and it's plenty big enough.
-
I meant as a training ground not stadium. Don't think it's big enough either, and the posh folk of dore would lose their minds
-
Thought it was a good idea when I first read it, as it would save the cost of land for a new training ground. But the cost of redeveloping Hillsborough into a training ground would probably make it impractical. There's a good site at Dore that might become available soon. Somebody bought it but looks like they can't afford to do owt with it

Don't think I would take my kids on the lll for this game. Not when you can watch it from the safety of your sofa. -
Don't think that's correct mate. The loan was put in place " if the club needs it". There's nothing to say it's even been touched. Bit like having an interest free credit card with a million pound limit. That doesn't mean you've got a million quid. Though my ex would argue otherwise.

Bannan discussed and feeling is not a free Di Canio definitely not cost us about 4.5 million ( well spent) Kieren Lee not sure on but I seem to think we paid a fee. If not great shout Westwood definitely Anderson, again I'm not sure if he was free but if so another great shout

Idea for a Trust night out kinda thing
Plonk replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Be hard pressed to beat hirstys bar for great fan social nights. New owner should definitely bring it back -
I thought we paid a fee for bazza. But if not, then obviously him. Although Madden played in some pretty big games for us.
-
Couple of years ago I did the real madrid stadium tour. We were supposed to watch a game too but they changed the day for TV so we missed it. But they know how to celebrate their past. I know ours by comparison isn't comparable but I think it's poor that we don't celebrate our history. Maybe that's something the new owners will put right
-
Who has been out free transfer? I'm going to start with Laurie Madden. Total unknown came from Millwall ( if I remember correctly) and went on to be a stalwart in one of our best sides.

Think it's one or the other isn't it. Both would be really nice.

Think a deal until June. If he does well give him another year. Could be good in league. We will need a few experienced players.

Supertram Changes on Sunday for the Sheffield Derby
Plonk replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
What I find a bit baffling is the fixtures came out in June so they've had five months warning. Yet make the decision a week before? Accept a week gives people time to make alternate plans but why leave it so late? -
Willie Henderson Terry Curren Paulo DiCanio. Three great entertainers. You literally couldn't predict what they would do next. Worth the entrance fee just to watch them. I've been lucky enough to have seen some great footballers but not sure the word maverick can really be applied to the likes of waddle. Amazed people mention chamberlain in this context. Good player but can't think of a less maverick
