  1. Just watching the highlights of their latest pashun filled loss. Nothing new here to remark on, but wowsers that is an absolute atrocity of a home shirt. Like 1970s Exeter
  2. Never met Beastie but I used to love reading his post match recaps online. His recaps were so wonderfully put together and captured a beautifully manic away day experience from start to finish. His energy was infectious and despite never meeting him you felt his heart and character through the articles. I was sad when I heard his news of his diagnosis and it left me deflated for a good hour or so. Tonight I saw the news on Twitter and I cried on a bus half the world away from Sheffield. Incredibly sad and my heart goes out to his family and friends.
  3. I was there that day too! Good away day to add to all the great ones that season. I also remember: - One time away when Jeffers scored a rare goal and we were winning 1-0. Went to see The Watchmen at Cineworld. Remember waiting for the tram refreshing the score on WAP endlessly to then finally see that we conceded a last minute goal. - That home game against them when we miraculously lost 2-1 with Parkin bagging for them. Great Michael Gray free kick and then JJ doing his impeccable miss by blazing a perfect shots against the post and then missing in the same fashion from the rebound. Bizarrest thing I have seen
  4. Same here
  5. I personally thought Munoz did a terrible job at Barnsley
  6. But we lost by two goals against the pigs… don’t you know that losing by two goals is a massacre?
  7. Luke from the podcast here: Rich and I decided to stop the weekly version at the end of Season 3. Last Season (our 4th) we decided to just do halfway and end of season recaps and then decided to cover the playoffs games also. We are pretty much very occasional podcasters now. Might come back and do that same review format this year… or maybe not?
  8. I don’t mind the Carlisle away… in a fugly so bad it’s good Rene Higuota fashion. Home kit genuinely reminds me of Dan Flashes
  9. The most morally upstanding thing one can do is to accuse others of cheating and bribing
  10. I initially started thinking that would be split between all clubs and thinking “that’s not terrible”. However; I am sure Rick Parry will take a good chunk of that for some new Birkenstocks
  11. Confused why people are talking about Milan Manderic in this thread
  12. What position does he have? He is unconvincing all over the pitch
  13. As title. I’m surprised this is on a Friday night… but not on TV? Why are we having these wacky AF kick off times as of late?
  14. Agreed! The goal he did score was impeccably spozzy too.
  15. Well… I think others are saying the same here but yeah, they aren’t the same. Hirst was an academy developed player with big expectations on him and he never got to the point of being a pivotal first team player. That hype along with being the son of a prominent superstar former player who played in the same position got a lot of the fanbase wet at the prospect of having Hirst 2.0. At least we got a fee albeit a very meagre one amid blatant “player laundering” from Leicester. FDB is a weird one, I think most of us (if I am making a comfortable assumption here) thought he seemed something different and special whenever we saw him play. Honestly I thought it was criminal that we saw so little of him under Monk when the midfield three (again 3-5-2 has been a recurrent theme here and not just lately under Moore) was crap and not working with a host of missing players in the middle of the park at the time. He may well have not been as much of a goal-scoring game-changer as he is now, but he should have played a lot more than he did. The only thing I think the two have in common (as well as potentially moving on for little to nothing) is that at times I think we already have stronger options ahead of them (Hirst was here when we had the strongest attacking line up in a good decade and a half, at least and despite FDB’s electric appearances from the bench I think we have better starting options than him).
  16. I’m sure he will get jiggy with it
  17. I'll tell you what could get us promoted this season… Winning lots of games
  18. I think we know that about NML. Sure he might be decent for four or five games a year if they are fortunate
  19. Hey everyone, Luke here, one half of Different Gravy, and I just wanted to post about the last episode of the podcast. Rich and I decided to stop doing the podcast and episode 150 is the last one for the foreseeable future (we may return for one offs, but the weekly episode is a thing of the past). It wasn't a light decision we made, but felt we reached a point where we achieved what we wanted to with the podcast and felt it was time to sign off and say goodbye. If anyone comes to the pod late, then I wanted to highlight any old episodes that are fun and special episodes outside of the regular match day reviews: Special Episodes Last episode: Luke and Rich best and worst Wednesday XIs: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/love-at-first-cruyff-turnwe-never-learnt-our-lesson/ Rich interviews his sister, Suz: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/fangirling-for-lee-bullen/ Luke interviews his Dad: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/dadpod-hastily-consulting-the-astrology-charts/ Review of the Robbie Savage "Making Macclesfield" documentary: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/port-vale-the-lower-league-antifa/ Luke does a Wednesday quiz for Rich: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/big-fat-wednesday-quiz-of-the-year/ Episode 100: Interview with Matt Exton and Luke and Rich Top 5 Wednesday memories: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/episode-100-steve-ellis-has-had-more-memory-sticks-than-you-ve-had-hot-dinners/ Review of "All Wednesday" documentary: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/barrycarryrich/ Review of Alex Miller's "91": https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/so-thick-it-could-stir-a-pint-of-guinness/ Review of QPR "Four Year Plan" documentary: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/go-through-the-masseuse/ Wednesday Musical Episode: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/can-you-hear-us-at-st-james-park-no-not-that-one-the-other-one/ Review of Spurs' "All or Nothing": https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/breakfast-with-jose/ Review of Leeds' "Take Us Home": https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/blowing-our-own-mindsa-greasy-garlicky-good-time/ Review of "Owls: Sheffield Wednesday Through the Modern Era" by Tom Whitworth (part 2): https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/venomous-rich/ Review of "Owls: Sheffield Wednesday Through the Modern Era" by Tom Whitworth (part 1): https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/foreign-tongues/ Review of "Sunderland Til I Die" S2: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/forgive-us-our-loovens/ Rich's Top 10 Wednesday goals: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/a-nasty-message-to-rod-liddle/ Luke's Top 10 Wednesday goals: https://differentgravy.podbean.com/e/an-odd-and-brutal-finesse/ Thank you everyone for listening. 20. You want the top half of Hourihane?
  21. I think with Derby it needs to also be taken into account that apparently they have lined up Wildsmith to be their number 1. Anyone still thinking they will be a threat this coming season needs to have a think about that
  22. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61500771 Absolute testicles
  23. Congratulations on him putting his foot through something successfully this season
