  1. On the whole I agree with you and I've taken the same stance so far. There is no proof that any of our actions will make a difference (that includes the defunding) and I genuinely believe the away fans have very much helped our cause. Im sure the regulator, for instance, will be influenced by many factors and Leicester will be one of them. Plus we are garnishing support from opposition fans and in some cases even owners, which adds to why the Regulator clearly sees us as their big case. If we all were quiet and didnt turn up we may have been noticed less. For now at least, I believe the small amount of money he gets from the away support is more than offset by the damage we are causing. If the Trust ask us to boycott all away games,I would join in though, because I believe in collective strength in a sitiation like this.
  2. I'm similar. 51 consecutive years, cut short my honeymoon 1 day to go to a preseason friendly. Still plan holidays around games but I'm not renewing. Obviously, some will, but I think a large majority wont.
  3. So far Ive followed what the Trust have asked for. I still happen to think that the away fans help our cause in as much as it keeps the situation on the agenda and really brings other supporters along with us, which hopefully all adds to the pressure that will be brought on DC. Perhaps Im being selfish. For balance, I've had a season ticket since 1974, boycotted the Leeds & Grimsby game, will boycott the Middlesboro game and joined the demonstrations such as travelling to the Thai embassy. I will also not renew if an early bird is offered whilst DC is in charge. If the Trust ask me to boycott away games I will, I feel like we should in the main all be backing their calls for action as they have more knowledge of what's happening behind the scenes than we do.
  4. No they dont. They just have a different opinion to me and you about the boycott. As for the random 10500, why worry about the actual figure, lets focus on the positives. Most fans seem to be joining in with the boycotts and theres real momentum. I read a lot about what Reading or Blackpool managed, but we shouldnt forget theyd been at it for years and their boycotts didnt remove the owner, weve realistically been at it for about 15 matches and may be the first club whose owner leaves due to a complete lack of funding, if the regulator doesnt act first.
  5. So you are telling us that we should believe everything he says?
  6. Explains why those top fans at Bournemouth get all they've got including Semenyo.
  7. I get your point, however that first person might get a lifetime ban from the ground if not followed by other fans so that alone could dissuade them. I took the view at the start of the protests I'd broadly follow what the Trust recommend, of which Im a paid member, hence I didn't buy tickets for Leeds or Grimsby, went to the Thai Embassy etc but Id only go on the pitch if lots were going on at the same time. It is a battle I agree, but at this stage this isnt the crucial roll of the dice although I am not against it.
  8. Genuine question if I'm understanding your implication that ticket staff are more at risk due to boycotts. What about the long game, aren't the Trust employing tactics that hopefully secure the long term employment, hopefully under a better regime of the ticket staff? Especially given that the owner has decided to start this season with insufficient players to give us a chance to stop up. With him at the helm, he may do that in league 1 and league 2 and what right minded footballer will want to play for him next year? Plus once hes cut playing staff, other staff may follow? With DC, nobody knows what he might do next because it defies general logic.
  9. Theres another thread currently sat next to this all about hate on hate to other fans. Think you've shown how much its still happening. To suggest the away fans are as bad as Chansiri - just mental. By the way, life doesnt work along the lines of getting what you deserve or tolerate, unless you think the Hollocaust or Twin Towers etc got what they tolerated. Must also mean Bury fans were culpable for what happened to their club.
  10. Sorry to disagree also but most people I know who have season tickets have decided not to renew. The rest aren't sure either way, Ive not come across a single person who has said they will definitely renew. The pics you saw from Saturday were isolated points in the ground. Entering the ground I saw 1 person drinking something that had been bought and half time I walked down a thurd of the North Stand concourse to chat to some mates amd I spotted nobody drinking. There probably were some but its very low numbers. Whars more, on the back of the win against Portsmouth, there must be 4000 season ticket holders at least that are not even attending now. If he put out an early bird this week I would be shocked if 3000 bought it. Including myself, of the 8 people I know really well who have season tickets, none would buy.
  11. Monday we can hold our head Tuesday, Wednesday, stay in bed Or Thursday watch the Blades instead On Shitstorm Friday, we're back in love
  12. I enjoy watching non league, but Im not passionate about it. I only get that from watching Wednesday.
  13. Just a nod to the people who regularly post in these threads, Malek being the obvious one. It is greatly appreciated, I just wish the club did more as well.
  14. He's played in the Champions League, won promotion to the Premiership with Luton and played 10 games for USA. Clearly hes had some good seasons in the past and he's 30, so a reasonable age for a keeper. Its not a bad CV for a 4th choice goalie at Cardiff, though he's been very inconsistent so far.
  15. Yes, he played in the middle of the 3
  16. I know its only 6 games in but I reckon if you were even close to predicting that table at the start of the season you deserve to be a millionaire. Soton & Ipswich on 6 points, Pigs 0, us 4, Preston 5th & Stoke 2nd, the list goes on.
  17. M Lowe was back to the performances we saw last year. Put his body on the line and made some good blocks and interceptions. Goalkeeper also kept us in the game.
  18. Not aimed at you personally but I'll use your post as a reference point. Owstalk, its absolutely great at times, but the amount of aggressive posts at different posters or parts of the fanbase is just sad to watch. Do you really think there is a fanbase in the country that would get zero home attendance, because there isnt? Theres some of the older generation that wont get into the politics of the club, wont go on Owlstalk and will attend no matter what. I have a mate who attended, he believes that we should protest etc but he also believes if you are a fan you should attend, no matter what, if you can. Hes wrong in my opinion, but he believes that. I have another who believes that nothing we do will make a difference to DC, again he's wrong in my opinion, but theres no proof to back that up. Right now theres at least 4 threads all just having a go at the fans that attended tonight, far more active threads that are having a go at DC. I just dont get it. We've come a long way, loads are joining the cause, loads wont renew, just shouting at the rest wont change their mind. I went to the Thai Embassy for the demo a couple of weeks ago, travelling from Sheffield. Its like me questioning why around 50-100 went from Sheffield to that when 40000 went to Wembley.
  19. You will always get fans who see things differently. I was chatting to a mate today and he's no longer buying merchandise, hes now fifty fifty on renewing (if DC is still here) but he's going to the Grimsby match, because he believes you should still give the team support on the pitch. You have to remember there isnt a straight forward if we do x then y will happen. There were some young lads covering seats with bags near the end and a guy walked towards them and said "its a waste of time, just go on the pitch". The positives are that a very high percentage of fans are getting involved in some capacity. If he's here beyond September then season ticket early birds are by far the biggest battle ground.
  20. From the same time. Chancer had a dream To wreck a football team We had no players, we couldnt even get them on loan Its a f**king disgrace Get him out of this place We're Sheffield Wednesday, we want out our club back.
  21. If people are asking then the question is relevant, not because they want more of the same, but because of other reasons Some fans have eternal optimism, some might think that events will transpire in a way that hes gone before the season is over etc. Surely those of us who arent going to renew should be doing more than just saying "do you want more of the same". For me, whats really important now is that we convince as many season ticket holders as possible to not renew if an early bird is offered. This is our biggest chance to get rid of him if we unite together - if we manage it then theres a far higher chance that we will get new owners, we'll be able to renew before the season is out and we may well get better prices and a better team next season. If none of that works, fans could still renew at a later point and I can't see how DC wont give fans that chance as numbers will be drastically down.
  22. Good article. It was a good day out and went well. Nice to see a couple of faces Id not seen for a while and to the guy on the train who joined us on the quiz, some great knowledge of the 50s and 60s Wednesday teams.
  23. I cant imagine more than a handful, if that, falling for this, though it wouldnt surprise me if he tried it. Fans pretty much know his word means nothing.
  24. I honestly think you are way out there - fingers crossed. I don't know the figures but we've dropped maybe from 21k to 17k this season when 90% of those renewing did it with an outside chance of the Premiership in sight and a modicum of backing (via coaching staff & odd signings) for the manager. I cant see it being a similar drop this time round. I think the drop will be far far higher. I know people who are in the first tranche of away priority points who wont renew, Im usyalky in the first or second and I wont. We will also be most likely adrift at the bottom of the table and very few fans will now fall for the "you need to put your money into the club to support transfers etc" line that he might try when he puts them on sale. Hopefully as well - and this to me is crucial - we keep up the momentum of protests and anti DC messages between now and the early bird. The regulator will also be sniffing around us, thats if they’ve not already forced a sale. Despite our so called weak fans, we might be the first ever to show that an owner has to leave if his funding almost completely stops, giving more power to fans in general. Rather than have a go at each other, lets hope we can encourage almost every season ticket holder to hold back from renewing.
  25. As things stand i cant see us getting 23 even if the EFL gives us 5 bonus points, let alone a deduction. Just think how many goals is in this ream versus are they likely to keep a clean sheet. Then consider what happens if Bannan is injured, or if we had say 4-5 injuries, which will happen at some point.
