  1. I voted NO in its current guise, as it feels completely pointless. I do think an engagement panel is a great idea in principle, and I’d like to see the Trust represented on it along with supporter groups covering all parts of the fan base. But it has to be transparent. The members who attend should be there to put forward the views of their groups, listen, and engage with the club - and that process should be broadcast and accessible to all. I’m not sure how much real engagement happens at most clubs to be fair, but as usual we seem to be managing it worse than everyone else. It should be a great way to connect with the whole fan base, to develop the relationship and build a proper community around the club - the clue is in the name. I don’t like everything being hidden away nor the mini-fiefdoms forming around those who attend. It should be about and for all fans. Obviously it’s not practical to have everyone in the room, and the format seems fine in principle, but the visibility needs to be for all of us. That’s all theory though - in reality, we’re a million miles away from that. So voted NO.
  2. Exactly the sort of chap we should have in place bridging the gap between owners and manager/coaches to provide support to both.
  3. I got one in the shop before Christmas too, seemed to have loads out on display then. Presumably stock for online orders as satifisied from the shop stock and aren't kept seperate although you're never quite sure with Wednesday. Which one are you after, as I've just looked and as far as I can see all are in stock? I added a couple to basket and can't see any mention of being out of stock, but maybe that comes up when you go to pay?
  4. Good player whose had some huge impact games for us, but wouldn't be bothered if we cashed in on him
  5. Was a result of our time wasting in first half. Was inevitable someone was going to get one carded for it. Same as Beadle, it was the cumulation of several similar moments rather anything specifically bad. Thought both were harsh in isolation but fair enough overall.
  6. Agree. He earned the right to start the season and being allowed to strengthen his squad ready for Championship. Don't think he's a good enough manager/communicator, bourne out by whats happened in his last two roles and very likely it would have ended in tears by Christmas, but we'd still have been better of than under Xisco both in terms of points and squad. Doubt we'd have got Röhl in without the job being available in the summer so potentially a sliding door moment as be surprised if we'd have appointed anyone of else of with his potential.
  7. Sorry to hear your sad news, but lovely tribute to him. All the best
  8. Jesse Marsch gives an in-depth coaching MASTERCLASS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RN5YXhc_1U
  9. Yellow and Red are very significant colours of protest in Thailand. Probably goes back for generations, but surfaced 2 decades ago when Thaksin Shinawatra (Of Man City fame) was ousted as prime minister. Think Yellow shirts were the royalists, protesting against corruption. I was out there and witnessed tanks in the streets of Bangkok https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-13294268 No idea which side Chansiri and family area (I would guess they are in the Yellow royalist urban elite but no idea) but worth trying to understand it properly, as the colours have real meaning over there and could help/hinder the messaging.
  10. If any truth, quickly becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Some stats are good but need to be analysed and applied with common sense
  11. It was mentioned, but very tounge in cheek, not as a scoop.
  12. nesh adjective 1. Soft; tender; delicate. 2. Soft; tender; yielding. 3. Delicate; weak; poor-spirited; susceptible to cold weather, harsh conditions etc. 4. Adam Reach playing football
  13. Ridiculous that PL clubs agree to max of £30 for away tickets yet the league below is allowed to charge significantly more. They have the money so be able to afford and its complicated, but the fans are the ones who are exploited
  14. Comms team (Trevor?) needs to step up and tell him a few home truths. He's totally entitled to say whatever he wants and is obviously hurt the critism, but that doesn't mean he SHOULD say what he thinks. Needs some media training and much better preparation for when Infront of the media (and fans). Suspect he's not easy to work for, but it's part of Comms/PR role to protect and help him. Don't mind at all that he's pissed off, but 15+ minute waffling rant just make him and the club look stupid.
  15. Same...my youngest one's worked fine. Good work from the club to update/clarify
  16. Agreed. I'm in same boat with my youngest - could have applied it to someone else with an ID, but that wasn't flagged as an issue until 20th. Setting up an ID and buying a membership is not the same as just setting up as free account just for the ID as there is a financial commitment involved. The club accepting the sale of the membership (with no other benefit given it expires at end of May) should mean something and hopefully will be honored but could be hard to confirm beforehand. Please post an update in your hear anything back.
  17. Interesting interview with him https://trainingground.guru/articles/academy-to-first-team-jimmy-shans-lessons-from-management
  18. £36 for an old shirt for a league one club when discounted...wow This should have been done a few months before end of season. Sensible to sell off the old stock, but ridiculous to do it just before start of a new season with a new kit about to be launched.
  19. Great story, never heard of him before. The military accountant who brought data analysis to English game Reep left Wolves for Sheffield Wednesday in 1955. He had never been formally employed at Molineux and the job at Hillsborough offered security and more money. He helped the Owls win promotion to the First Division as champions in 1956, scoring over 100 goals, before leaving two seasons later when the manager who brought him in, Eric Taylor, was sacked.
  20. Never met him, but seen him around interacting with fans a few times. Comes across as genuine standup bloke, as per stories above. Limited player whose attitude and dedication got him a good career and quite rightly cult status with our fans. At moment, think his managerial skills are probably similarly limited. Wouldn't want him back any time soon, but he has lots of great attributes and hope he goes onto be a top manager. I've got family in Ayr and usually up there several times a year. Never been to see them play, although have been to a party at ground, but will definitely go and see them and support Lee next time I get a chance.
  21. He's a poor communicator in front of the media. Although important for the fans and I wish he was better, it doesn't really matter. However, his ability to communicate with the players is critical. Maybe it's the cameras/microphones and associated pressure (I know I'd struggle) when in front of then media, but I suspect it's more deep routed and he just doesnt have the skills to communicate clearly. The umms and errs, repeating himself whilst going around in circles doesn't give any confidence that he has the ability to get his message across in a way that is easy for the players to understand. They all seem to like him and he does come across as a good guy, but that doesn't make him a good manager.
  22. Two fantastic corner deliveries
  23. @0742 Being a bit of a data geek, I've signed up and enjoyed working though this - thanks for the details. Its quite a undertaking, as there is a lot of content to get through, but very interesting so far. I like the main presenter but the Chinese girl is hard to follow, so just ignored her and worked through the notebooks myself. Note, with CourseRa, you don't need to pay for these courses, you can audit for free and get all the content other than the solutions to practicals/quizzes (and no certificate).
  24. Their number 20 looks handy
