  1. From this distance, most of the hysteria this season seems to stem from United being above us. Matchday has been a flipping cesspit to read through the past few weeks but things like this do nicely to tip the balance back towards sensible again. Well done.
  2. I only caught the second half after searching for a stream (why did I give iFollow a decent wedge of cash again?), but that football was lovely stuff. Great link up play from Fletcher and good running from midfield too. No idea why people want Carlos sacked really... *runs away*
  3. The entire site is a clusterfuck of UX design, Goody. Try going to the subscription page.
  4. Bracing myself for a 4:45am kickoff. Hoping that we play slightly more open football this time out so I don't fall instantly asleep.
  5. That's fair enough Hoots, but also remember that Wednesday, in the last 15 years or so, have been through 'challenging' times. i wouldn't begrudge someone voting for Semedo or Bullen because in a lot of the fan base's current lifetime, they have been some of the standout players who have gotten us to this point in time. this isn't a collection of players from Sheffield Wednesday's history, it's a collection of Sheffield Wednesday's players 150 years in.
  6. Docklands? I'm sorry to hear that Crafty Squire on Russell St in the CBD
  7. Yeah, The Crafty Squire is a decent place to watch football over here. There's an upstairs area that's good fun too, but some pissed up tart threw a pint glass at a tv during the euros so not sure if it'll be open.
  8. Guess my name wasn't obvious enough :( i usually check www.gameonlivesports.com.au, but Saturday isn't up yet. Best case scenario: James Squires on Russell St Worst case scenario (on many levels): crown casino
  9. http://cricfree.sc/watch/live/sheffield-wed-vs-nottingham-forest-live-streaming seems to be up
  10. Well, there was the guy in the coracle fishing balls out of the river to consider.
  11. I like them, bit different.
  12. That's almost as many hull fans as there are at the stadium!
  13. A pretty nervy first half performance really, but still 0-0, time to grab the game by the jaffas.
  14. 2am kick off, followed by the champions league final at 4something. Who needs sleep? It's fecking cold in Melbourne though, so I'll be watching it from the comfort of my sofa, wrapped in beer and a blanket.
  15. There's gumption, and then there's cuntion... Nice tribute thought though.
  16. Think of it as a generational problem, encourage the kids and make it easier for families. They might not improve for another 5 years, but eventually it'll pay off. And that doesn't just mean 'cheaper tickets' either...
  17. From an outside perspective (well, Australia), that's possibly the most perceptive thing I've read in all this. When the ticketing structure was first released, many people freaked out about the 'top end' prices, regardless of how many games they'd actually apply to. As a result, it created a negative feeling for many individuals. Chansiri isn't thinking about these individuals though, he's thinking about the club as a whole. Whatever damage caused has now been done, and rather than backtrack completely (and put the 'Premier league in 2 years project at risk), take small steps to show fans what their money is actually going towards and improve their experiences when they do come. Considering the dross we've had in recent years, the thought of having 'good' players on ~£30k wages is genuinely exciting, but this costs cash. A lot more than we've had access to in the last decade. Take the personal sentiment out of it and focus purely on Wednesday as a collective entity, does anyone want to go back to the club being financially un-workable again? Or do they want to see Wednesday succeed?
  18. D list celebrities?
  19. Worth pointing out, the train station to the old ground was a leisurely walk along the river, the new one is quite a bit further away. I'd be hiring a minibus or two if I was going, means you can have a beer in town and then get down there. I'd recommend the Nags Head on Wyle Cop but Russ doesnt like colours or chanting, so be nice please.
  20. The Gay Meadow was a fascinating ground, felt like a proper pitch with some ramshackle terraces placed around it. Still remember the smell coming from the corner toilets (a fancy word for a brick wall in the corner) whenever the wind changed. Quite a few games were held up when players kept booting the ball into the river and they didn't have any more. New meadow is alright, a little bit Lego but at least it's easier to get into and out of now. And you can see fields through the corner bits, so you might get lucky and spot a cow if it's boring.
  21. FYI, the man with the boat fishing balls out of the river is no longer used.
  22. If anyone is looking for forums, try Blue and Amber. For those who haven't been to 'town before, it's pretty small. Transport is a delight thanks to our one way roads throughout the town centre, and although we have a large amount of pubs per capita, there are very few near the ground itself. Brooklands is possibly your best bet for pre-match. Also, don't call us Welsh please, learn your history! And ha! I remember Hereford, didn't you lot try and play football once? ;)
  23. Yeah, I can't get player working at all. It's 2am, why do I do this?!
